ok so i gave this a shot....

didnt go TOO well...

i couldnt ffind a 30 amp relay so i used a 40...

i used 14 gauge wire for everything except the fic signal

...

issues were... at idle it had some sputtering...

and when 2 stepping it was like ....ding ...ding...ding then a rapid machine gun sound... kinda like your did...i didnt get any form of popping or backfiring tho...i test with 4k and 4.2k rpms

if you have sputtering at idle then either connections arnt solid or relay isnt closing all the way.
other than that it sounds normal.

if you want loud poping and such prolly going to have to tap into an injector and somehow rig analog a or b map to dump fuel. Doing this will help the turbo to spool but i havnt felt brave enough..its hard to explain how to do that. I still havnt gotten a chance to see if it builds boost yet as is. Iv got too many things going on to play with it.

cause they are also dumping fuel...the wot box does the samething we are doing except they have a lead that taps into an injector which i assume powers up that lead dumping fuel while 2steping. like i said i could rig a way to do that with the fic but will require a couple more parts (low voltage reed type relay)...i havnt looked into it since iv been dealing with burnt out o2 sensors and other peeps cars.

ground is a big one...i tried at first to use the stock clutch pedel switch but it wasnt a good enough ground to use thats why i used a micro switch and its own ground from a bolt on the firewall.

im going to try to mount the relay in the engine bay... and run the ground directly to the battery negative terminal

??? you should have the ground for the relay comeing from the micro switch and the micro switch ground comeing from a decent source (batt will do)

right now for testing i have no micro switch just a regular 12v\dc switch inline of the fic output wire.....

my wiring...

relay ground- directly to battery

relay ignition cables.....directly to ignition ground fuse

fic 12v output to switch....switch to relay...

my plan is to run the micro switch on the line of the fic.... this was both the regular switch and micro switch are inline and both have to be activated...

car sounds better when part throttle 2 stepping...

and the idle is now fixed

ok update... i fiddled with it this morning to wake all my neighbors... i adjusted the fuel map at the rpm range of where it 2steps... instead on running -36.7 on 550cc injector i put in +3.1 of fuel... this made the step sound like a regular rev limiter just slower...non of that machine gun bull.....then i decided to change the value to +30....to see if i would get backfiring...no luck oh well..

datalog shows 16.8 psia of boost built lol so ~2psi not bad

then fuel isnt it then...maybe a secondary spark event that triggered while one cyl is on its exhaust stroke.

the amp rating is just that...a rating that lets you know how many amps the device can handle continuously before its damaged. Most devices iv seen are slightly underrated, kinda a safety buffer.

how many amps do you thin go through that fic 12v signal that gives me an idea of the size micro switch i will need

I think the specs for the fic say 1amp max from the 12v switch...so 1amp will do
