That's the gauge from the new motor. Most of the parts in his engine bay are from the same car.

I believe everything on his car is done or pretty much done.

Alright guys, she's alive!!! I crank her up and it ran great, for about 10sec and I shut her down Reason being that I can't get reverse to go in, I was able to move to every gear when the tranny was out and for some reason it will go to every gear but the reverse position. At first I though it was the shift cables, but I tried by moving the big counter weight on the shifting mechanism and I had the same thing happen. On top of that reverse is in the neutral position, all of the other ones seem to be fine.

My only guess is to try to remove the shift shaft and check if the levers got moved while trying to put it in. I did follow the manual step by step and aligned all three little level paddles up like it showed. Chris was here, he can vouch for that.

P.S. What do you guys think? I would soo love to run the engine, but don't want to keep the clutch down for 10 mins.

Check the shifter input the 4 bolt section that slides in..

Also did you make sure you bolted down the reverse in the trans.. beilive its 3-4 12 mm bolts!

yep, I did. That's the one that u have to align to the housing and once u put both halves together U tight it down, right? I'm deff doing the shifter input and slide it out and back in and see what it does. I'm affraid it might be the reverse bracket that's inside.

when u slide the case back together.. there a half circle peice that has a groove it slides into.. and u must remove a 10mm bolt on the other case and reinstall it.

well I guess if I was able to shift every single gear while the tranny was out, it should the the shifter input shaft or shift cables.

Deff not cables.. But could the shaft.. Or something changed when it spun the gears...

it can be a pain to light up the shift input somethings!

I just hope is not the reverse shift arm bracket that's inside, that somehow I didn't aligned the little hole on it with the reverse shift fork.

I didn't have the change to play with it, since I had to do a whole tune-up to my wifes car. Dang, those auto tranny oil pan bolts are hard all the way out!!!

Will be driving to California tomorrow afternoon, won't be back till about a week from now. Hope to have some time tomorrow to play with it, if not it's gonna have to wait.

BTW mike, u mentioned that the forks have to be shifted down? I shifted them up before inserting the shaft, maybe that's the problem. We'll see.

Yo Chris, wassup!

What i mean is.. that shaft they slide on in the trans.. I usually center the selectors before installing them..

Sorry for confusion.. As many trannys ive had apart.. I dont know all the part names lol!

Im guessing when u pull it out.. One of the selector forks was not lined up just forcing it in reverse all the time.. Simple fix! Prob a pita to get in car though! Good luck man!

Glad to see u got a new motor so quickly!
