well yeah i do but i pulled the cheack/fill plug and some oil came out it still was on the clear/clean side. not burnt smelling with a hint of metalic. ok normal. but i ran a magnet thorgh the fill pulg and out came shreades of metal. so im going to drain flush and refill the tranny and get ready for a new clutch flywheel and tranny rebuild.

If it is only in 5th gear, then you could have bad 5th gear needle bearings (not common, but I have seen it with a few gm tranny's) From my experience, if it only makes noise in one gear, then usually it is that bearing that's bad. Bad/worn synchro's (dogteeth) will cause it to either be hard to get into gear or will pop out of gear. Can't diag over the internet, that's for sure.

our trannies don't have needle bearings if i recall correctly..

the only needle bearings would be in the throw out bearings

Lack of knowledge of our tranny haha. I have seen a lot of GM transmissions and it seems like they all use them (well, all Longitudinal haha) I will have to research the Toyota transmission.

either something is very wrong with your transmission or you drve the ____ out of it beacuse the stock tranny is strong as crap.

Nice picture! Seems like it would be pretty easy to work on. I am still looking to get a Camry transmission and dissecting it to see the real differences in them. I Still want to swap the main shaft and the Ring gear if possible (for the slightly longer gears). I don't know how much it would actually help for boosted tC's, but I assume it wouldn't hurt since our gears are so short. I researched all of this a long time ago haha.
