LT1 Camaro VS. SC tC

I had I/H/E then droped the Intake and added the S/C and Pulley that is one hell of a difference now let me tell you. Never hit the track with my I/H/E set-up but I can assure you with the I/H/E it's nowhere near as quick as with Super/H/E/Pulley. But I havent hit the track yet, So I can't post any times. Will be hitting the track when my Bracket is fixed though.
If it's one thing you will learn about me, is that I speak from experience, not hypotheticals. Second part is that I was not talking about a modded S/C. I was talking about a $3k dollar price tag to go as fast as oooh..$1k. Yes, a modded S/C will be faster than an I/H/E setup tC. Just S/C only though...naw, my money is on the N/A'ed setup. Then the S/C guy goes home orders a header, and Intake, then he would sway my vote to his side of the fence.

Also, you said that was your best run, what were you averaging when it was bone stock with the SC?

Guess I'll just hold down the fort here in the Boro, until you come rolling through. We are shooting for a 6pm depart time here. But more than likely it will be 7pm before we hit the road(Central time that is, KY is Eastern, so compensate for the time difference). Anyhow, it probably would be best if you got here hrs. early and just hung around. They are doing construction near the Bowling Green area and the traffic drops to 1 lane. So, you should head here long before we get off work, so we don't have to worry about waiting in the event you get stuck in traffic.

That was my best time bone stock, not modified. "last time I ran" was a 14.336.
Bone stock my 1/8th was 9.398 at 78.89mph

eh... I have not seen a slip for a n/a tc in the 14's unless juiced... anyone have a slip and not just "I saw one, one time" Most tc's with intake header, exhaust at firebird run anyware between a 15.6 and a 16.2 depending on the driver. Yeah I know... pretty slow which means... pretty slow driver.
I always love these sorts of feuds! Benchracing is always hillarious!
To answer the original topic, What would it take from an SC'ed tC to reliably beat the listed slightly modified LT1 F-body? ...much more than you'd probably be willing to spend, my friend. Torque is where it's at, guys, and for this, there is no replacement for displacement.
I have had LT1's, LS1's, and still have a very mean L98 F-body! Bone stock, the LT1 cars were making 285hp, with an equivalent amount of torque. With a 6-speed, these cars were easily driven to mid-13's. Slightly modified, the LT1 easily produces 320+...anyone remember the Firehawk???
An LS1 car is even more devastating, as its starting point is approximately 345/300+ hp/tq and it responds even better to modification. My 35th Anniversary Z (God rest her soul) was running upper 12's consistantly, and all I did was mod the intake, run headers, and run a set of drag radials. I have friends who run these cars at consistant 10's and these are STREET LEGAL cars!!
As for the video, the little toaster ate that tC for lunch!
...but the tC let off... yeah, to avoid running into the back of the xB, which is obviously all he saw!
ZPI, keep up the great work. You are making me think seriously about a turbo kit for my box!

If you're in the 16's with a tC it is either stock & automatic, or you have about a 2.5-2.6 60' time and missed a gear after that.
I would say a great driver in a fully bolted NA tC should be able to beat a decent driver in a stock SCed tC. With even drivers the SCed tC would win, but not more then 2 cars. For $3,000 you really don't get much performance.

FYI...LS2 GTO is recored at 13.9 1/4th in stock form. Straight from GM's website.

On the contrary, a N/A tC with I/H/E combo maybe a crank pulley to bat, will net an average time of 14.8-15.0 in the 1/4. Not 15.6....15.6 is COMPLETELY stock times.
