Car runs waaaaaay smoother. No more jerking while driving and I don't have to worry about the car stalling while stopped.

I'm satisfied with the numbers, but would want to hit that 300whp.

Ah, well car is starting to give out white smoke. Can't really tell cause it's night time, but it looks like it's coming from the exhaust. Coolant level is good and did a oil change maybe about two weeks ago. Has a certain smell, but can't tell what its coming from.

The white smoke becomes more obvious while at idle but also comes out while driving...

Any ideas?

Took the car out for a small drive today...

White smoke seems to be coming out even more. But now that I look at it, it seems to be coming out from under the car instead of the exhaust. Smokes a trail while driving, so I just took my dad's Tundra for the rest of the day.

Any ideas of what can be the problem?

Gonna check the oil level tomorrow and turbo shaft play.

Might be a bad turbo. Check your oil feed and return lines they might be bad. Do a compression and leakdown test like i mentioned.

Well recently I haven't had time to check things out myself lately. But I did check the oil level today, and it was pretty low. I thought that could've been one of the factors of why its's smoking so much. Filled it up and took it for a small drive, and its still smoking.

So I just brought it by to a reputable shop nearby and dropped it off. I get a call a few hours later, saying they checked the turbo, did compression tests, etc. and everything with the turbo is fine.

They say the problem is something with the motor

Haven't got much details yet, but I hope its nothing too big.

Had another shop look at it, same deal, turbo is good, but he told me it's low compression in the 4th cylinder, 30 pounds, and 90-100 on the other 3.

I know this guy wouldn't 'say' things. He's worked on my car and my families car for quite a while now. Head gasket is good though.

He said piston and rings are out in the 4th cylinder, might as well just upgrade all of 'em eh?

Any recommendations?

Well gonna have the shop take a look at the inside to see what's really wrong.

Signs point at the piston and ring in the 4th cylinder they say. If that's the case I'll just upgrade the pistons and possibly the rods also while I'm at it.

How much would you guys think that would run in labor?

Any recommendations on brands for those? I'm looking at cp pistons and carillo rods.

Labor i would say, $2000

Cp pistons and Carillo Rods would be my choice. Cant go wrong with that combo. I think they sell that combo for like $800-$900 on eBay.

Might as well get some ACL bearings and some ARP head studs. and delete your balance shafts.

I would get a third opinion cuz something doesnt sound right, you were only boosted for a few weeks and you lost that much compression....by what your telling us they say it just doesnt sound right

What do you think? My parents say with the money I'm about to put down for the rebuild and parts, they say I should just get a good motor and remove the turbo setup and be done with it.

Let's say I go with the rebuild, I shouldn't see any problems if the rebuild goes smooth right? And of course I'll get retuned right away right after it's all finished.
