Yeah but I'm not sure about that, I don't think you would save as much weight as just replacing everything, remember the frame, the rails, motor all that weights too, and the whole reason for getting the roof is to reduce weight, the more you reduce, the lower the center of gravity of the car.
^^The reason for my wanting to have a quick release would be to remove the roof all together on those sunny days that I wanted to have the top off. I would just throw it in the back when I took it off.
t-top supra style? lol not a bad idea for a DD or weekend car but then you would have to work something out with some type of deflector, wind noise is going to be incredibly uncomfortable.
try holding the deflector down with your hand when you are the highway, and it's going to be something like that...
also, totally not trying to be an A S S here but, we shouldn't be threadjacking... this ptuning car and all the detailed information they are posting is very important.

When your exhaust is the loudest thing on 4 wheels along with an open WG.....I think wind noise is the least of your troubles....
We aren't thread jacking. Topic is about Ptuning's fabricated roof, and how they went about securing it to the car.

Thank you for eveyone's feedbacks, comments, opinions, etc. We thought about running the car without the roof, but the opening would create a lot of unecessary drag on the car.
If you can afford it, just ge the CF roof, especially for a DD, since the fit and finish would be more on par with the factory setup. Our aluminum roof is all about functionality (reducing excess weight on top to lower the CG).
Here's a few pics of the energy suspension bushing and motor mount bushing. These will probably be replaced with solid aluminum bushing at a later date. And there's also a pic of our air filter airbox/dirt shield.

hey guys... are you still running 5x100 bolt pattern? have you guys tried fitting an xb2 on them since they have 5x114.3 and you would have a wider range of wheel choices? i ask cuz im not sure if they are direct swap or a little bit of tinkering will be needed... cuz if they are direct swap, i might have to do this and get a better selection on my next wheels.

We will definitely look into this for the winter. Of course we can possibly build one from scratch--CAD/CAM, but it's going to be expensive
This conversion--if it fits--will definitely be for die-hard racing only, because it's unlikely that anyone is going to spend the money and time to convert to the 5x114.3 setup and have to upgrade all their hubs, rotors and possibly calipers/adaptors and drive shaft to make it all work. But we might be lucky and it bolts right up.MrC

Also, do you plan on putting the car on a scale after it's finished and track ready?

We will be weighing the car once Seibon sends us the CF hood and rear trunk lid. Also Progress is building us a custom TA coil over setup with shorter springs in the front to allow us to run more negative camber with our existing wheel and tire setup. Once we get these parts in, we will weight the car and at the same time corner balance the car on our intercomp racing scales.
