I wasnt trying to attack you....and im sorry if it came off that way....i was just trying to say that you should feel a difference, especially with the FI. I guarentee if you take it to the track your 12.7 will go down....the vibrations suck i agree....i feel it mostly through my radio door so for the most part i try to keep it closed....

If you really want to feel a difference find another FI or even NA tC without them drive it a bit and then jump into you car and see if you feel a difference.....i know alot of tC's around here and i had them drive my car and then all say that its a big improvement....minus the vibrations....

318, did you just have stock mounts before or did you have an engine torque dampner as well?

I can't speak to these mounts, but I know the ETD will pass alot of vibrations through the cab, especially at idle. I put one on my roomates car and she hated the vibration so much that it's now disconnected and only gets hooked up at the track.

Test this out... at idle, when the car is vibrating, where do you feel it? Steering wheel? radio cover? is it a buzzing sound or is it a real vibration? Then turn off your a/c and tell me how it changes the sound/vibration.

We'll go from that point...

Now about your question: "What you're supposed to be looking for"
During load (on the road or on a dyno) your engine moves a significant amount forward and backward. This movement delays torque to the wheels and does not allow for consistent control of the power to the ground. These new mounts are supposed to reduce that movement and allow you to put more power to the ground.
The easiest way to see how much they have improved your ride is around a corner acceleration.
Before the ETD, driving around a corner in first gear 20 mpg (non turbo'd car) with all the weight on the left wheel (right turn) punching the gas would roast the right tire till the car straightened out. Straight line launching would result in wheel hop at anything more than a mild launch.
After the ETD, the same turn, the car will hook up significantly faster. Straight line launching also allows for significantly more aggressive throttle (not 4k clutch dumping, but a lot more than stock).

Hope this helps.
The AC on causes the most Vibrations!!! With it off it is barley noticable!!!

Would you say (aside from vibrations) that the damper was better?

It should be about the same as the ETD, but these mounts will hold A LOT MORE POWER. I bent the ETD bracket on my roommates car and she just has bolt ons.

True.....the ETD is just a band aid....but it does the same thing.....only your 500whp would no doubt snap the ETD instantly......you may not notice it but the motors mounts are critical......

OK. I just ordered mine and I'm going to put the front on as soon as I get it. I'll wait to put the back on for a month or so.
Here is my question:
Has anyone who has put this on also installed the Hotchkis (or any other if there is any) front sway bar?
Would you say the install of the rear mount is better or worse then installing the front sway bar?

Ordered on Sunday, got an email on Tuesday that they shipped on Monday and I recieved them on Wednesday. Nice turn around time! Installed the front tonight on Thursday in 30 minutes! MAN! What a difference!!!
Yeah, idles a little rough, but I kinda like it. Makes the car feel more meaty But man, that wheel hop is GONE. Nothing but screaching tires now!!!
Great job Speed Source!!!

OK, here is a crappy vid I made.
First half is stock mounts. Second half is the Speed Source front mount in.
It's hard to see, but during revs, the engine movement from the first is eliminated in the second.

I hate you...

You do realize you will probably be installing mine if they make a a/t version and I get them

Thanks for taking the video

The results will really only been seen under load - i.e. if somebody had dyno video before/after mount installation - the lack of engine movement would really shine.

None the less - glad you are enjoying the poly!

Yeah, I saw a dyno video without them and the movement was SCARY! I've been looking for something liek this ever since.

I am getting boosted, so will dyno then and hopefully post of vid of it.

I can say though that I raced my buddy with intake and exhaust, I only have exhaust, and I took him off the line because my wheel hop/spin was dramatically less then his.

Are you the creator of the m/t speed source mounts?

Are the auto mounts different then the manual?
I was looking at amdforever's and at least his fronts look identical to mine.
Have not pulled the rear yet, but the speed sourece rears ore only the poly inserts, not the entire bracket.

I haven't been under the car yet but I brought up the parts catalog on TRDSparks page and the m/t rear mount and a/t mount look almost identical in the line drawing. But yet like a 15 price difference. The bracket looks the same so it may just be more material. Mr Meaty and I are going to have to look at it when he gets a chance.

Hey, AMD, nice research.
Did they have the same part number?

They don't list the numbers, i'm gonna try to contact them on it but here is the pic of the A/T mount setup http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=7&catalogid=2

And this is the M/T mount setup, they both look the same only the M/T has an additional piece at the top, but the A/t is a few bux more

In those pics, the MT has 13 parts and the AT has 12.
It looks like part 7 in the MT has an extra piece sticking off the side of it.
However, the parts you get from Speed Source are full replacements for part 1, and just the insert for part 8.
That's just a diagram, so who the hell knows, but it looks like it should work.
We shoudl take your stock front and and try putting my stock front in just to see if it fits, cause it only takes 20min, and we can mark that off our list.
