Test drove White RS 2.0 A/T TC. Running horrible...
No disrespect to the Dealer but they have no idea what there talking about. If it stalls like that on one pull then like crush said it could be a improper connection or mostly a bad tune. I would be cautious of dealing with them(the dealer) if they say the car is fine and it stalls on the first test drive. Most technicians at dealers won't touch a modified vehicle espcially a non-factory aftermarket turboed car too much liability. Turbocharging an NA cars takes patience so don't rush it take your time. It took me a year but it was worth it.
I dont think truer words have been spoken on this forum. Taking your time is key imho, being carefull and not cutting corners too much, thinking it out and asking questions will almost gurantee success.
You can make an auto run right and be decently fast. I did it with mine for over a year, than I trashed the tranny by turning it up to 11 psi lol, than came all the fun stuff (manual swap, built short block, big turbo)
follow these basic rules and you increase your chances of haveing years of enjoyment with your car.
1. dont be cheap, get quality stuff.
2. research components and get reviews from people
3. understand how a turbo system works
4. research possible problems you may come accross and how to fix them
5. never skip an oil change or let it go for too long
6. take your time on install and do it right the first time
7. get it tuned properly
8. keep boost within reason (8psi) and dont change it (you could maybe go higher but im shooting for longevity without spending and arm and a leg)
9. dont ignore your gauges (some just get aftermarket gauges for looks and dont understand how to read them or they dont get gauges at all)
10. get atleast two aftermarket gauges, a wideband and boost
these are my ten commandments for boost...lol
