I"m still debating on going turbo or not..I make a couple long trips every year and I'm concerned about how the trans is gonna hold up on a long haul like that :/..it's not crazy long but it's still a 350 mile trip so at least 700 miles round trip.

I was probably going to keep boost around 5 psi with a dezod kit if I do..anyone have any input on my concerns?

Naturally I would also make sure to get a trans cooler right away. eventually I would plan on building a trans to handle a bit more power with being worry free although I doubt I would want to go above 275whp..250 would probably be perfect for me (although I say that now..haha) but I just want the piece of mind of a built trans even if I'm not pushing it

Nothing about a turbo is going to change the reliability of your transmission on a long drive, unless you doing constant 100% wot the whole way there....LOL. You drive normal and cruising, which I imagine using the cruise control as well, turbo does not effect that or cause a wear and tear on your tranny. The actual mileage you putting on the car will be the wear and tear.

If you doing 5psi then you might as well keep the car as it is, as 5psi is worthless. Go at minimum 7psi.

5psi As stated above will be stupid. probably right around 200whp. I ran 12-18psi with a small turbo. At 12psi it was enough for 260whp a 13.5, and at 18ish psi, I could roast drag radials through second. Awesome street car.

Cant wait until my build that is going on right now is done.

260WHP just isnt as good as 261WHP.

Best part is you can still drive it like a normal car and be comfortable! Clutching for hours a day in traffic is teh fails

1. ZPI and Dezod both have kits avaliable for the tC.(waiting on conformation from turbonetics)
2. Greddy kit will fit the a/t tC but you need to get the optional fuel upgrades!
3. If you try going the cheap route you will blow your engine!(ask g0t_rice)
4. The a/t tC needs larger injectors! at minimum 410cc's the a/t tC for some reason requires more fuel then the m/t if you do not upgrade the injectors and have emange to tune you will max out your injectors and in turn see # 3!
5. For the love of god spend $40 and get an a/t cooler! $40 thats all shipped from Summit Racing!!!
6. a/t tCs will need a tune! im sorry thats just the truth!

so to recap; UPGRADE YOUR INJECTORS!!!! Have some form of fuel managment to tune your car! and spend $40 buy an a/t cooler! anything further don't hesitate to pm me. :D

Hi,

440cc injectors should be fine for your 7-9 psi. Idk what you mean for your second question. You can use as big injectors as you want since you are tuning with a piggyback ecu.

Get your self a tranny cooler and while you are in the process put a nice quality grade synthetic ATF in it and you should be fine.

like with most kids its personal preference, if you are wanting a simple bolt on kit for an a/t i'd say go with dezod, or i know dezod just put a new a/t kit on someone's tc the other day. so not sure what outcome that will bring. how easy it is to make a kit fit an auto that's not pre-fab for an auto (like dezods) im not sure as i havent looked into it too much. but best bet is prob dezod or a custom made kit. but like everyone says just make sure to get the tranny cooler

The only thing that you have to look for when bolting up a turbo kit is usally the transmission dip stick. That not really a big deal at all.
As far as what turbo kit to get. Its all according what you want to spend. there are some really nice kits on the market right now. Ptuning, Dezod, Descendant
Or if you are looking to save some money you can buy a used kit there are plently of them hitting the classifieds here

The Turbonetics kit you will have to modify to fit. Dezod, Descendant, Sound Performance, and now Ptuning (beta still) have drop in kits. Any kit can be tuned practically anywhere. Just not Turbochargers.com

Dezod can come catted too! Make sure you goto the forum specials on their site they give you like 200 or so off the kit.
