turbotoytas simple kit+GT3071R (vid p 12, final results p 31)
the fans you are using might have a built thermostat? on a regular fan, on and off should be controlled by the ecu, relay, thermostat and nothing to do with the fans. Also check how much fuel pressure is set, it has lots of things to do with fueling issues. You have a 05-06 right? i've heard 07 up doesnt let you run with maf disconnected.
man, i can't wait until all the little quirks are worked out. i was hoping i would pick the car up and have a joy-gasm as soon as i drive it, but right now it is a little bit of a PITA.
unplugging the maf and having a charge pipe off is two different things..unplugging maf sends u into open loop so ur ecu basically dumps fuel accordingly to throttle and afr...
charge pipes coming off...ur maf is getting incorerect readings so u wont get fuel...or all fuel no air

OMG christian, drive it out of boost to Ptuning and let them take care of it. I know you had issues with them in the past but at least you know that when you take it to them, it will run fine. It cost $400 for a tune there man, just do it the right way! Stop wasting your time going back to altered over and over again with no results!

no problem zack. the car is coming together, gradually, but the end is near!
man, this cooling issue is no joke. 76*F today, didn't have the heat on, just turned the dial over to max cool, but no a/c or fan on, on a road going about about 40 mph behind a minivan on georgia avenue in a 50 mph zone, i overtake the slow@$$ minivan holding me up in just a 2nd using 3rd gear and stop and wait to make a left at norbeck road, noticed my temps were just over 200 degrees, driving into leisure world, going slow, but my temps were not coming down, had to turn the heater on to max to get it to start coming down.
hate to think how this is going to work in warmer weather! lol. new radiator and shroud will be arriving friday.

durring the scion show of champions, it was a hot 105-110 degree day, the and even after 9 passes, water temp was like 210 degrees, maybe 215. that was with the supercharger. so yeah, one minivan overtake on a 75 degree day shouldn't tax the coolant system that much. i know i don't have a shroud, so it is loosing about 23% cooling efficiency according to my BMW friend. then the intercooler probably blocking the lower half of the radiator and blocking the heating up the incoming air going through already.
keep in mind that your coolant is now almost in direct contact with the exhoust stream....idc what some may say but that has to do something to the system...for most im sure the stock system is able to handle it but you throw in high ambiant temps, inefficant fans, high egt's (think about it), no shroud....all this stuff just adds up to a problem...just saying
with the turbo, today is the highest i have ever seen it, it is also the warmest day it has been since i've had it turbo'ed, and 76 degrees is not hot, lol. when it was getting dyno'ed, the tuner said i was getting to 230 degrees, but i didn't see it myself, but i dn't think it is to his advantage to lie really. actually, the reason why the coolant was low was because it spilled some on the dyno, and he forgot to refill it, for which he apologized.
hard to keep track, but they are usually pretty rich, idle can be kinda jumpy between high 12 and high 14's, under partial throttle it gets to 12-13, and in boost it is about 11, sometimes as low as 10, but just for a second. very rarely do i do full throttle. but it is tuned, probably to about 11 or so.
imho i think with stock fans, little more tuneing, and a shroud (if possible with stock fans) will knock a few degrees off...
your afr's are kinda wide if you get my meaning....i could see it vary between 13.8-15.1 (in idle) but mostly in the 14's with a good tune....11's seem off to me even if it just touches for a second into that afr in idle. egt's could play a roll in the water temp. but then again i could be wrong bro...i have only seen elevated water temps on other peeps Tc's and not mine. so im just going off of a couple of guys i run with that have had this issue and what they did to solve it.

yeah, it idles, but it is still kinda jumpy at times. definitely not as solid as it was with the supercharger and such. but hopefully it'll get there with the BOV recirculated.
I dont think the bov has much at all to do with your idle unless it stays open...even with it recirq'd when you shift your afr's will still jump around...not as bad i would think but still.
