yeah its under gauges....while you have the gauges displayed hit one of the buttons till you get LP....next to it will display open or closed.

the reason i ask is that iv been trying to tune a local guy here for a couple of weeks with little success, well he came over today and i was going to throw out the tune i had been working on for him and just start from scratch. when i hooked up the scan gauge it said he was in open loop at idle...i knew that wasnt right and i checked his codes, he was throwing a p2237 code. didnt quit make sense to me so we double checked his maf and 02 sensor. after that i did an experiment on his 02 map in the idle areas and set it roughly 11afr. it didnt change his afr's and the only way i could was to change the values on his fuel map. now i dont have a fic map right now that will throw the car into open loop nor cause a p2237 code. so i go to the next step and unplug his fic and hook his ecu up directly. code went away and scangauge reads closed loop at idle. just incase, i swapped to a different base map that i used quit a bit on my car and installed his fic and harness onto my car (only code that tune would throw was p0420 for no cat). instantly i threw a code and my car idled in open loop, so that leads me to think either the fic is fubar'd or the harness is miswired. i printed out a pin out for an 07-up ecu and printed out a pin out of the fic. We think we may have found one of the issues with the fic harness, i havnt personaly gotten a chance to go through the entire harness yet to make sure thats the case but i sent the paper work to Kyle (aka HIX) to look over and see if he can find a problem with the wireing.

this is just an idea to look at, so if you got a scangauge flip it to LP and see what it says in idle. (i do still think the trd ecu was screwing you over but just double check your not stuck in open loop all the time)

on one hand its hella easy to get wot but you can hang it up when it comes to partial throttle and mid boost. oh and it would help if he had the maf adapter screwed down also....lol

YEA,

lol that would help! but WOT Is always in open loop lol!

Its already a full time job countering the oem ecu! Let alone trying to do it with no o2 feedback!

I tried tuning a car yesterday with a slipping clutch! YEA never again!

9 psi 9psi 9 psi 14 psi! WTF!!!!!!!!! lol same car i tuned 2 weeks before with no spike..

What clutch you have again... "STOCK" Put it in second and hit it.. "YEA thats not tires spinning LMAO"

Mike, that is EXACTLY why I make sure the car is 100% mechanically sound before I even plug in a laptop. Otherwise, all you do is chase your own tail for hours, get nothing done and make more headaches for yourself.

yeah deceleration should be open loop.. cold start might give you open loop, as it warms up it goes to closed loop.

i didnt really have that option. I didnt install the kit but i did get an hour or so to look over things after i had finished up his gauges. Im glad i had that time cause injector 3 and 4 were not seated and spraying fuel all over his intake. fixed that up and found a couple of other things that needed attention but didnt have the parts. guy lives close to 80 miles from me so it was a one shot deal. (not driving that far to install a maf adapter...lol). wish i had my scanegauge when i was there, i wouldnt have been going through all this.

but Paul your 100% correct...i was just chasing my tail.....I should have charged him but just wanted to help out a local.

nope, still using the TRD ecu. like i said, thursday, hopefully with the upgrades to the cooling system, the car can get properly tuned on the dyno so no more worrying about overheating.

Never heard good things prior about the shop. their track record is shaky but apparently their staff changed alot and got better from when I heard about them.... I just hope in the end Drax's car is alright. and nothing BIG goes bad.

okay...for everybody talking $h!t about the shop, the car hasn't been back since the BOV got recirculated, which was last tuesday. the koyo radiator and mishamoto shroud just arrived. car goes back tomorrow for installation, and with the stronger cooling system, the car should be able to receive a proper tuning session to drive out all the gremlins making the car stall and hesitate.

Doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist to do the install though bro. How much you pay for them to not tune your car? What was the reason for it overheating again?

Travis ease up bro....

I remember you getting very defensive yourself about a certain someone and his tuning abilities.

lets just see how this plays out huh?
