DIY: Switchblade Key Conversion
Oh really? I joined yoursciontc.com am tried it out for awhile but i had been on SL for so long I was so used to the layout and how it worked i just said forget it and stuck with SL. But the crap that was going on on the site a year or so ago has calmed down. The stupid posts are down and so is the flaming which makes it more enjoyable.
Got my retractable key done a few days ago. works great. only part i think feels a little off is the rubber that covers the button but i dont think it will break or anything. it was a little bit of work tearing everything apart but it was worth it. both my oem keys are ruined (buttons worn key broke out then jb welded then broke again) might try this flip key with my other.
One month update:
Got my first ding on the face of the key.

Not awful, but slightly annoying. Thing is, if ANY part of this key is going to show wear, it will be that face plate. It's a thin aluminum that would certainly scratch and damage before anything else.
The rest of the key is still perfect. Not a mark on it.

i got my flip key done last Friday. i have to agree with everyone here this key is definitely a good key. only problem i had was that my car did not recognize the transponder chip with it in the spot it was supposed to be in so just put it inside nearest the key as possible
Any group buys would actually have to be arranged by a forum Sponsor... so unless one of the eBay vendors wants to sign up here and pay to be a sponsor, it probably wouldn't happen.
