I just got the key and got it cut and assembled it. Looks and works great. Just found out the Buzz button is on the wrong side...

Also Ack are your Lock/Unlock buttons flipped?

Don't recall exactly which way they are compared to the others... but those little silver buttons can be switched, so if they are "wrong" on the key, just swap the button pieces.

I know they can be switched. But my lock and unlock is flipped compared to yours.

Also does your panic button work?

My buttons work as pictured... so it is possible I have have swapped them when I put it back together, I really don't recall.

I don't know about the panic, I assume so - but I've never tried it.

I think you might want to check that out. Lock should be on the right side.

If I look at mine holding it with panic to the top, unlock is on the right and lock is on the left. So I must have swapped them.

Anyone know where I could get the key without the guts? Only the complete keys are on ebay now.

Hey, so I got the key off of ebay and went and got it cut using the code at the toyota dealer, but it turns out that the machine at the toyota dealer is not able to cut the tip of the key, which leaves the tip of they key too wide (I assume its not as wide on blank toyota keys) and it won't work in my car and every other place i've been to (Ace Hadware, Home Depot, etc) said they don't cut car keys.

Any advice on how to get the end of the key cut?

Keep going to hardware/home stores. Someone will cut it. Those that say they can't/won't are just lazy or stupid.

Someone on Ebay selling just the case, he does have a cheaper shipping which I still think is a bit high but hey its still less than the key with guts.

For those of you having issues with getting the key cut at home depot/lowes.

I used to work at lowes and their machines have this blank. The first thing they will tell you is you have a chip in your key and it wont work. Well just tell them to ignore that for now and find the blank for your stock scion key. If their machine is an Axxcess the blank key is #35R.

Tell them to pull the cartage for that blank (35R). Now, give them your blank flip key and instruct the worker to use your blank instead.

Ta Da, you got your key cut for free!

Sounds like you either ordered the wrong thing or he shipped the wrong thing. I would just contact the seller and try to get it exchanged before doing anything else.

Unlock is on the left, lock is on the right, and panic don't work.

and since the transponder was acting up, the metal cover doesnt stick right. good thing it comes with two covers. i will put on the second one when i am sure the transponder is in there right and i dont have trouble starting the tC

sorry for this question but according to the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...item35a6b2d7a5

the guy will put in a transponder for us. does that mean i should take that transponder out and put in the one from my original key? or should i ask him/her not to put it in at all?

if he has a transponder in there already, that means i will need to program (add my key) according to the instructions on the first post?

so aside from getting it cut, everything else should just be transfer and some super glue right?

I think you have to ask the seller to put one in for you - so I just would not bother doing that and use the one in your current key (assuming you're replacing one).
