Default Head Unit Security Measures?

I was wondering if anyone has implemented any security measures to help deter people from trying to steal your headunit. For example, add a little lock and key device on the door thingy (even though you can simply take off the panel to bypass this) to keep people from opening it.

Or did you just use odd screws that a ordinary thief may not have the tools to remove?

Thanks.

eclipse headunit has ESN... where you need a specific cd to boot it up if u disconnect power from it.... I always leave my cd key at home too... unless somebody figured out how to hack that I dont know of..

alot of headunits have security codes, but that still wont keep ppl from jacking them. i think that as long as you keep your radio cover closed u should be fine.

I agree with 05FMtc, Just close the radio cover. I have security code on my kenwood but if someone jack the unit they can't use it and neither can I.

tcover isn't really a security measure... it's just a convinience... that it will close by itself when you shut off the car.

Not to be sound like an a hole but how hard is to close the radio cover? Dang, where in Cincy do you live? I wouldn't think any1 would steal an HU anywhere but Lincoln Heights.

yea, I know it's not a security measure, but it just something to make sure I don't forget to close the cover. Plus, I don't want to scratch the interior plastic closing it by hand cause I'm picky like that.

bBlover, I stay in clifton by over the rhine, but do some work in westwood, winton terrace, and avondale so yea I'm paranoid...

nobody said anything about tcover being a security measure...but having my cover down so ppl cant see my 5435 is... not that they can use it... but incase they dont know that and see my hu and steal it...

it's not hard to close the cover at all but I like how it opens and close at a turn of a key...
