a stock alternator will only put out 65 amps no matter how fast it rotates. thats why you need an HO one. nothing you can do about that.

Meh, typical. Everyone thinks half-empty, nobody goes for full. Pessimists, I say. Have you ever cracked open an alternator and snooped around? They're pretty full if you ask me.

So you base your entire outlook on life based on the quality of your alternator? That's a little sad.

I used to. But then I realized that the glass is not half empty. Nor is it half full. It's the container that's flawed, not the amount in it. You'll have to forgive me for my ill attempts at humor, but I got off work like 3 hours ago, and really should be in bed.

Engineer answer: The glass is twice as big as it needs to be. :D

On topic: Funny. I just started looking into HO alts. for my tC yesterday. I haven't found one specifically for the tC, but I found some "universal" ones that may work. Just have to see how "universal" they really are....

i talked to Dominick Iraggi about a group buy and this is what he said...

I will do 25% if you guys get atleast 20 people. They need to pay first to be considered. As soon as they pay, we will build and ship as soon as the first 20 people pay. There is no limit to people allowed in group buy.

Typical pricing

180 $459
200 $479
220 $499
240 $519
260 $539
280 $559
300 $579

Take the 25% off these prices.

Thanks, Dom
discounted prices =

180 $367.20
200 $383.20
220 $399.20
240 $415.20
260 $431.20
280 $447.20
300 $463.20

based on that i believe you can pick whatever size you want, we just need 20 people.

add on this list, once we have the 20 full, ill get back with Dom and see where he wants the money sent to and so forth.

I'm just wondering what are you guys running that you need that much power? I'm planning on running a carputer with an amp. Do i need more than the stock altenator can put out?
