For me to ask the vast majority of scionlife people a question. But first let me tell you my problem.

I own 2 12" Audiobahn AW1251T powered by an Audiobahn A8002T 2 channel amp. If you want to see, check my profile for pics. The problem is that my crappy p.o.s. box is falling apart. The screws holding in the fiberglass are stripping the wood, falling out, and making the most annoying rattle. Also the wall of the box on the right side has come loose and rattles as well. This is really embarrassing to play music at a decent level and hear that rattle. So I need to buy a new box, I would like another bandpass box, but I don't want to spend the time making one or having one made. I would just like something nice and pre-made. I'm not really in it for the boom, really more show than go; I want to show off the flames of my subs. So I was thinking about the Q-Logic 212.4, Audiobahn ABP122N, and this setup from quarterwavedesigns QD-TC-2. I'm open to all opinions, and any help is appreciated. BTW Just turned 18, with all the payments I have to make for car, insurance, and gas, a fair and decent price would be awesome.

Nothing wrong with Audiobahn. But, I'm not gonna start one of those threads...I'd say go with the Quarterwave enclosure. They are an excellent company and will build you what you need...

 

I HIGHLY suggest re-thinking a pre-made box.... any ported type of enclosure has to be TUNED to specific parameters that are DIFFERENT for EACH subwoofer.... without the correct tuning, your subs aren't going to give you good sound... I'm not just talking about loud boom, I'm talking about decent sound reproduction...

 

Thanks for three that have posted. I know there are others that read my post, come on if you have an opinion state it. BTW I have talked to quarterwave designs about a custom box, but I'm still open to other suggestions that will do just fine. On another note, going to the local drag strip tonight (Moroso Motor sports park) and I took out my subs. Man that poor box has taken a beating. I will try to repair it the best I can until I can find something more suitabale. Thanks again for you replies, and get some more up there, I want to hear from you people.

 

Just in case you guys were curious about my run for tonight. Here's a link to my time. If you can't see the pic I ran the quartermile in 16.99 seconds, with a reaction time of .371. The person I was going up against was a slighty modded '03 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. I had a good time I was the only one though that lost on my team. 4 wins 1 loss. Oh well, we had a bunch of fun and that was the purpose.
