Default Left Headlight Problems

Recently I thought my left headlight went dead so as I was nudging it to change the bulb, it flashed back on as soon as I touched it. Now every time I start my car I have to fiddle with the wiring for the left headlight for it to turn on. Any theories on what could be wrong?

Bad connector. Are you running aftermarket bulbs of any kind?

I figured you would say that. Do some searching on here and see how many others with those bulbs have fried harness connectors. That may not be your issue, but it is first thing I would check. If so, trash those and go get yourself some good standard halogens.

The issue will. Most likely the connector was overheated and will need to be replaced. This has been the issue with these bulbs many times.

yeah, your connector probably got damaged... i'm running luminics as well.. but did some background checking a little bit, and installed them with some conductive grease.

no problems thus far *knock on wood*

seems most aftermarket bulbs have connectors that don't fit well. instead of the misconception of running higher wattage bulbs, it's actually the connector that does not have a secure fit

this in turn will create arcing within the harness... creating resistance and heat.... leading to damage.

best to take a look at the harness and replace it if it's that bad.

i had this same problem and i run luminics also. the harness did burn but i dont think it has anything to do with the luminics bulbs because only the left side had the problem . the right side is perfectly fine. instead of going to the dealer to get a new harness that may cause the same problem, go to walmart, they sell the replacement harnesses. i did it and used high temp dielectric grease and thus far no problems...good luck.

Take it to the dealership. If it is still under warranty
