personanlly.. i like MTX and KICKER amps........ awsome stuff.... but u have to take in consideration. the right woofer the right box to the right amp. since the JL W6v2 is a dual voice coild dual 4ohm and ur gonna run in series to get 2ohms. so therfore any REALIABLE amp (true RMS power) will do.... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=4 that info on that site will tell you wats a good amp for the sub. ummmm wat i totally recommend.... no more than 800 watts RMS... true RMS. MTX, ECLIPSE, ALPINE, KICKER, ROCKFORD FOSGATE are very respectable companies with awsome amps. ANY AMP with a Bench Certificate will provide the information u might need to choose a amp.

800watts @ 2 ohms (mininum 4gauge ampkit)
1.25cu sealed enclousure
2.50cu ported enclousure

but then again. its just me.... pm me if u need more info or me to clarify some stuff... i might of made no sense... its 11:47pm... late... worked late...

Wait Wait Wait........

MAXAM: we need to know what impedance your sub is.... the JL w3v2 can have a dual 2ohm, dual 4ohm, or dual 6ohm... you can figure out which one you have by looking on the magnet of the sub. it will say there... you might see the greek letter for omega which is the symbol for ohm(looks like a horseshoe). We need this information in order to get you a good amp suggestion...

Ok... I've got the w3's as well and you can put more than the 300 RMS watts on them.... you'll need to find an amp with the RMS rating at 2ohm mono....

I'd say get a 400 x 1 @ 2ohm amp... that'll pound that sub very well.... what's your budget for an amp?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. You can't necessarily "turn it up" to 250. This simply means the continuous power of the amplifier is 250 watts, or, the amount of wattage continuously sent to your subwoofer. Remember, the gain is not a volume ****!!!!!!

It's a couple of bucks over your limit but this is a great deal....I'm getting one to power my 2 Memphis 10's.

The e1400D would be a better choice to the 250/1 because it'll deliver 400 RMS to a 2ohm mono load... you'll get 2ohm by wiring your DVC4ohm in parallel...

The only difference between different Ohm'd voice coils is their resistance to electrical current. There isn't any advantage from one to the other aside from the ability to get certain ohm loads at the amp depending on what resistance your sub(s) have...

That Hifonics titan is a good amp, but would overpower that w3 terribly... 700RMSx1 @ 2ohm is too much for a single 12w3...
