Default 05 tC iPod integration

I have a 05 tC with factory single disc radio, factory sub and factory XM radio and would like use my iPod. Is there any of these solutions that will work with my equipment other than a FM transmitter?

Hey, Whats up guys?

Ive done a few searches and read all 7 pages of this topic and I think I am in the right place....if not just say "Shut up n00b! Go away!" Its cool, Im old and I can take it.

SO heres my question:

Proud new owner of an '06 tC with the ipod interface. I am going to upgrade it with the new D3 navi unit in March when it comes out.

I know I will need to purchase the iPod Interface adapter to still use my iPod, BUT is there any way to keep the adapter that is allready in the center console?

The bus adapter loos the same that is in the console as is on the actual interface.

Anyone done this with another Pioneer HU?

Thanks in advance.

When it says it is not xm compatible means that when your vehicle is equiped with XM radio you have a blackbox in this case the xm tuner plugged in your 12 pin OEM radio rear socket, allowing your OEM HU radio to control it.

Of course if you do not have the XM option then the 12 pin rear HU radio connector socket is free and you can plug on it either the PIE or the Blitzsafe input adapter.

In layman words there is no way you can plug the XM tuner and the PIE or Blitzsafe adapter on the same time to the radio, so adapter brand has not relevance. Unfortunately neither of them displays any ipod info on the HU display.

The premium OEM HU radio with Ipod controling capability has the same motherboard but with the extra components which the standard miss, to control the ipod plus another socket which goes through an aditional cable to your ipod dock port. Of course this HU main board has not the same firmware as the standard radio.

If the radio has an aux labeled button it´s possible to add the missing wiring harness to allow it to be activated when selected (in case you don´t have inside the console the aux plug option).

I have the kenwood dx7015 HU and it has the AV inputs, I bought a $20 ipod AV out cable (the one for watching videos on tv) for my ipod video and now I can watch videos and listen to music from the ipod too! It's great!

and for power, I just bought a cigarette lighter charger for the ipod.

I think most aftermarket HUs with dvd capability can do this.

I read through this list, but can't find the answer I'm looking for...

I have an 06 with the AUX jack in the center armrest, and I bought a 1/8" minijack (stereo to stereo) and plugged one end into my iPod shuffle and the other into the AUX jack. I pushed the AUX button on my HU but nothing shows up and it doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?

Default ipod missing cable

I have found a company willing to manufacture the missing cable for us.
They have access to the connectors and contacts, which are only available from Japan, and must be ordered in large quantities.
If you are interested, contact: bill@rc-tech.com.

Need some help and it seems noone has my setup.

2005 TC.
2007 6 disc pioneer stereo (factory installed to replace my defective 2005 unit)

Is This stereo Ipod compatible? Meaning, all I have to do is buy the kit, and drill a hole in the center console for the connecting cord?

You will need to get the ipod cable that runs from the HU to the center console. That wire harness is only available in 06-07 scions. You will have to get the cable from a junked 06-07 scion. I completed the ipod wire harness/HU install succesfully. I don't know about the 6disc system and ipod compatablity, I just know you will need the ipod harness from an 06-07 to make it work.

Default Scion - link cable

I have purchased one of the "Scion-Link" cables that allows me to use the Scion - ipod head unit in my 2005 Rav4. It will also allow the headunit to be used in a 2005 Scion.
It allows full control of the ipod, and my quest is finally over.

Hi all.

I recently got a used '06 tC with (unbeknownst to me at the time of purchase) the upgraded iPod-ready stereo.

I wasn't given any iPod connection cable. Of course I didn't complain about this when I got the car because I didn't even know I had the option, but now that I know, I want to get the cable.

I've looked around a lot for places to buy it online. I'm aware of this: http://toyotaterritory.com/sciontc.aspX But i'm not willing to pay $65 for it.

I found what appears to be the right cable on Amazon for $30: http://tinyurl.com/2tk557

Now I asked the people who sell the cable if that was the right thing, and was told that it wouldn't work fully (audio/charging only, no text support or stereo control) and i'd have to buy something more expensive. Needless to say, I don't trust them.

Then I asked Scion customer service, and they told me to go to a Scion/Toyota parts department. From what i've read here, however, they charge even more than $65.

So my questions are, can anyone verify if that $30 cable is the right / wrong thing to get full iPod support? (including track names on the display and control from the stereo)

Also, does anyone think I can manage to get the dealership to hand me one over for free, since technically the car was supposed to have it anyway? (I doubt it'll be that easy.)

Any help is appreciated.

Since it's used, likely not.
BUT, if they used the iPod stereo upgrade as a selling point, they owe you the cable.
Did they advertise that option?

As I said, they didn't even tell me about it. I noticed it after I drove the car home.
