that "cable" will allow you to listen to your ipod and control it through your HU, but it will not display information on the HU. For that you need the genuine cable, like the one from toyota parts or from that toyota website that you listed. Otherwise you'd be looking at spending $130+ for another option.

Ok, thanks. I have to take the car to the service center anyway, so I'll probably pick up the genuine cable while i'm there.

Well- I may be missing something, but you can plug in to the Aux jack in the center armrest using a standard mini stereo plug from your headphone-out, then switch to Aux on your stereo. If you want to be able to *control* the ipod, it gets more complicated.

I have a Harman Kardon Drive + Play system, but I'm having problems with alternator whine and other interference that I'm still trying to figure out, so I can't recommend it *yet*- but the display and controls are awesome... just need to fix the sound quality.

Hello everyone:

My name is Cisco, proud owner of 05 tc

I have been reading this forum and it is so helpful. Thank you guys for the great info.

the options available for the TC 05 factory head units are helpful but I want to go another route and I hope I can do it, with the help of you guys.

I have an Mp3 player Coby, and Ipod Nano, I need something I can plug into head jacks of the mp3s and lissen through it using the factory stereo unit...the the options on page 1 of this forum help.

BUT

Is there in anyway I can switch the factory head unit from the 05 to a factory unit of 07 that has the AUX input already as part of the unit to hook up the Mp3 players...

So can I do a switch between factory 05 to a factory 07. The price is not an obsticle because I can get one under 50 bucks....I just want to knwo if it will work with the 05 wiring units...or is it more involve than just the radio swap...

Please help thanks you guys...

Default Scion head unit iPod cable

I purchased one of the "missing" cables to allow me to use the iPod option head unit in my 2005.
I found it on ebay under "SC12234"
It does everything the head unit was designed to do.

Default Scion head unit to ipod interface cable

There are two types of cables for the Scion Head Unit (T 1806) to ipod interface available on ebay.
Cable “SC12234” replaces the main harness wires that are missing on the 2005 Scions.
Cable “SC12235” connects directly to the head unit and connects to the ipod.
I have purchased both of these cables (for different applications) and they have worked great.
I am sure that they will also work with the new T 1808 & T 1809 head units.

Wow... I guess I need to take some time to update this for the 2007 models. And maybe even 2008. Hmm...

Hi, I have a 2005 tc and I bought a neo car adapter for my ipod. When I installed it everything was fine I've had it for almost 3 months without a problem. When I plugged in my ipod today I usually see the title of the song on the stereo but today all it said was "No Title". The song plays, but I do not have access to switch the songs through my stereo. What do I have to do? I pressed all the buttons on the stereo, sat in the car for 30 minutes trying to figure it out and I just don't know what to do.

Please help

If I reset it then I lose all 2000 of my songs. I don't have any saved on my computer.
Isn't there another way?

will this cable work for the 05 6cd changer? I already bough the toy-03 aux adapter, but this is much less and charges it too. if this one works i can just sell my toy-03

this will not work, because it uses the IP-bus found on the aftermarket Pioneer decks, the stock HU does not have the IP-Bus slot.
