Default will this amp be able to power these?

ok so i want to get some polk audio db6500 comps and the db650 coaxs. the amp that i want to get is the JL audio e4300. the 6500s are 100 watts rms and the 650s are 60 watts rms. the 4300 puts out 45 watts @ 12 volts @ 4 ohms per channel. will this work?? im sure it will work but will it work well? the only reason that i want to stick with the e4300 is because of the amp i have now, the e1200 i want to have a nice matching amp set for shows n stuff. thanks.

It'll work, but the speakers will be underpowered. If you want to stick with JL amps, I'd recommend the 450/4 but set the gain for the RMS of the speakers.

just food for thought. most blown speakers blow because they are underpowered.

Underpowering doesn't blow speakers. It's the fact that people will try to compensate for a lack of power by clipping the amplifier and sending a dirty signal to the speakers.

Yep. If the specified rms for the speakers is 60 watts, and you're throwing them 45, you should be fine, as long as you properly set the gain and crossovers, etc..

Exactly....it's like saying that listening at a low volume would damage your speakers
