well, either you are a troll, or you just have a one track mind, but probably both. you have ignored everything that has been said to you by others and myself. you're not worth it, so go and buy your 06 and have fun "picking your interior color." the way you see things, it will probably be a tough "choice," so good luck with that.

I'll be taking some more pics soon enough. Close-ups this time. (Under bright light)

Chances are, I'll be replacing MY vehicle (03 Dodge Dakota ClubCab SLT) with an 06 FM. Kinda feel like a kid two weeks before Christmas...

As mentioned on the previous page, the interior color codes are the same for 05 and 06, so yes.
that just means that you can't CHOOSE the interior color. It doesn't mean that it's not matched to the exterior.
No, that's not what it means. Color codes mean something. Let's say we need to replace a seat in your car under warranty. How do we know what to order? We look at the color code. In the case of a Scion tC, as long as it isn't the RS1, we order seats with a color code of FA14. Color FA14 is the same this year as it was last year. There's nothing mystical about it. Its a function of lighting, angles and color perception.

what i would guess is that because this thread in question is kind of a shiney black/gray color, it does have some reflective properties, especially if the flash of a camera is used. therefore it does reflect off the paint.

i bet they did that on purpose, to confuse us all.

Digital camera pics taken by laymen are not reliable sources of color/lighting comparisons. What kind of camera was used for that "purple interior" pic? Looks like its white balance is way off. Did you manually calibrate it beforehand like you should have? Did you adjust exposure according to the camera's histogram (assuming your digicam has this feature, which most entry-level ones don't).

Even the reviewers at many review sites don't follow these procedures for getting accurate pictures, which is why they can show slightly different colors. Digicams aren't like the film cameras of back in the day, which is what manufacturers are working so hard to achieve. And entry-level digicams definitely need their settings tweaked if you're taking nonstandard photographs with mixed lighting conditions.

Taken by "layman", I suppose, since I certainly DON'T know what you're talking about...
All settings on the camera were set on AUTO. It's a Minolta Dimage S304 3.3MP.

So, I'm no camera expert...Granted...I still think it looks purple.

I'll go take some more. Maybe, they'll look better...

Sorry Gortok, I didn't intend for my post to sound derogatory; I was using the term "layman" in its technical sense and without any negative connotation.

The S304 is a really good camera; it was on the higher end of the consumer digicam price range when it came out. But like any highly customizable piece of electronic equipment, the user has to be experienced to get it to shine under nonstandard conditions. And this shot is definitely a nonstandard condition since so much of the incoming light is solid purple.

This is the seat with flash

The door still looks purple (even with white balance manually set to daylight...)

I think the camera is bad...somehow.
When I go to take the shot as it's auto-focusing, it shows it black...and then it's purple.
Freaky...

Gortok, you can prove your color is not gray if you put your car next to another tC which has gray/blue interior and take a picture of both doors, so it will show if the colors are different.

But seriously I don't think your color is the same as gray/blue, no matter how "layman" the picture is. And to the non believers who keep quoting the interior color code - the color code probably applies to ither internal stuff like the dash. It doesn't have to apply to the fabric. It is perfectly reasonable to assume a differently colored fabric was used in different cars.

I firmly believe they did this to us on purpose...just to play with our heads. They've used a type of fiber that changes hue by refraction-reflection. BIZARRE!

I wouldn't get too worked up over it, tho'. We can all get along. No sense calling anyone anything...

I did not take the "layman" reference as a put-down. Not to worry. I'm not vain.

I DO plan to put them side-by-side when I get mine. I'll certainly post more pics, then. I suspect we'll see exactly the same thing on both cars...through the same lens. Time will tell.
We are awaiting the insurance payoff on the wife's totalled '00 Olds Intrigue. Pay off some CCs, and trade in the Dodge. We'll get better value and return on our money with both of us having TCs...(that's what I keep telling myself anyway : ) )

wow, now purple enters the mix. but purple is close to blue so i guess it's not weird that some people see purple or a bluish purple.

as for the pictures, it looks like it was caused by reflection, or maybe that stuff about the camera colors not allowing the colors in the pictures to come out the way that they really are. afterall, cameras don't always see what your eyes see.

two BCP owners already said their fabric looks purple-ish in real life (not just in pictures). I guess when we finally have the decisive prrof someone will have to eat their hat.......
