Just as I said before, you run what is on the door jamb of the car, not what is on the tire itself.

I cant run the tire psi written on the on the cars door.
I run on 18's and the stock psi rating are for 17s.

I took my car in for oil change and the people at the service stop in toyota lowered the psi to the door spec and 2 days later tire pressure light kicks in.

not to mention the rims riding reaaaaal close to the ground as the tire sags.
Even with the 18's, your tire pressure should still be near the door jamb ratings. I don't know the tC pressure off the top of my head, but Toyota is probably filling them up to the exact amount. Then when it gets cold, you lose 2-5 PSI and it triggers the light to come on. 40 is too high for our car, plus you're going to have horrible tire wear with pressure that high (about 44 PSI after those tires reach operating temp). Just do the door jamb + a few more pounds and you'll be fine.

my tC gets about 19 in town sometimes less, and about 30 on highway, its general mix of 50/50 highway city is around 25mpg. It has gotten as high as 34mpg on the highway but that was for a short period after i added the NJK plugs and K&N filter, then several months later it went back down to around 30 to 31 highway mpg.
