I feel that given my sn I must chime in. We have a hempfest in boston also. I am one of the unlucky ones that was pegged as a pot head because of (what I believe was) car profiling. I was pulled over for "swerving" on a road with no lines, in the snow, and at night. After I was pulled over he said i was swerving and then asked me to get out of the car. I said no. He said yes get out. I ended up getting off because they had no right to search my car and they loosed my file on the court data.
legalize it!!!
happy motoring

Very true. Statistics can be skewed to serve the views of anyone. The fact that marijuana is a so called "gateway drug" is that people who are willing to try marijuana are also likely to try other illicit substances. Let's say a young man, we'll call him Stan, is completely opposed to any and all illicit drugs. Stan is somehow duped into smoking a joint, that does not mean that Stan will now start doing blow and injecting heroin into his eyeball. It just doens't work that way.

Now let's talk about Stan's co-worker, Mary. Mary is an open minded person. Mary's at a party one Friday night and someone passes her a joint. She smokes some, gets high and has a good time. She doesn't go crazy, doesn't rob or kill anyone. The next day, Mary thinks about the previous night and how everything she's been taught about marijuana by the media, schools, the gorvernment is wrong. Pot isn't really that bad. In fact, it was quite enjoyable.

So, what now? Mary may or may not go on to try other illicit substances. She might reason that since pot is protrayed as a very dangerous drug but in her recent experience isn't, that all drugs are equally unjustly villified. That's the problem. Mary (being the open minded, inquisitive person she is) may decide that crack can't be nearly as bad as it's made out to be and turn into a hardcore, crack head junkie and die an untimely death.

Mis-information and scare tactics that our government uses are (I think) more dangerous than any drugs. I think people should have the correct, unbiased information needed to make a rational decision about what they put into their bodies. Say no to "just say no" and say yes to "just say know."

.....I went off on a bit of a rant there...sorry.

Stay safe, smart, and informed.

I recommend ANY of you guys who care about your rights as a citizen to view the following 45 minutes of video on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqMjM...eature=related

This is ways to protect your right(s) and not allow searching of your person(s) or property. VERY good information.

I know I am an old guy around here...........but in my opinion...........wait...........nevermind I for what I was talking about..........whooooo.........that was weird..........

Hemp fest is great.................good Lord.........do I endorse it.........no I no longer partake...........but I am not about to condemn those that still do............maybe more people should look into why Hemp fest comes to Seattle every year other than to smoke out..........I had a dear friend who had MS and used it every day...........as a medical aide.............and was prescribed by a military doctor.........

When we make an item illegal we promote black market sales of said product............the only crime I ever did when smoked out.........well lets just say that bag of cookies had it coming.............
