Default Burning out all the way in the wet road.....

2 days ago i tried to race my friend with a PINK integra on the rain. it was just sprinkling but the roads were wet.

when we start off my wheels keep spinning on first gear up to redline at 6200rpm! and then when i shift second i was still burning out intill 5400rpm! i whobbing alittle side by side just slightly. so i just shift to 3rd gear and drove normal. all that and i only went 30mph haha.

my friends in the car were like what the ____? your car keeps spinning out. and i was like well damn i got more torque then HP. he was complaining how this car wont do good on the track. but i said this never happened before and the roads were wet. he also complain that this car is gonna have bad handling too...

we did this twice and still burn out through out 1st and 2nd gear around 5000-6000rpm both...

it was nice tho, anyone been through this?

that's why i'm glad the B's came with traction control....i can turn it off if i want to and get a decent burnout, but i'll be loving it in the snow :-D

yeah i know exactly why.. even though no one on this board ever really listens to what I've been saying.. lol

It's the stock tires!! the bridgestone RE92's SUCK in the rain! As the mileage accumulates on the RE92's they begin to get worse..They are slippery in the wet weather! and are not that good.. I bet if you tried to race them in dry weather it's fine, right? The tires have very very BAD reviews on www.tirerack.com's reviews.. I went and got some Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S and seem to working out fine.. if you do get the Pirelli's.. I warn ya.. they are a bit "squirelly" for the first 300 miles while they break in.. then they're fine..

but again.. it's the tires.. no amount of tire pressure is going to help them.. others will sit here and argue that i'm wrong.. but go look at tirerack.com.. under reviews.. you'll see..

edit : your friend is just jealous you have a nicer car.. stock tires suck, ALWAYS.. unless you buy a ferrari or a porsche.!! car will handle fine at the track, get some Pirelli's.. you'll see the difference.!! MUCH BETTER!

yea i agree my friends told me to buy bigger/ heavier tires...

i can drive alittle in first gear and burn out on 2nd.

my friend told me he would trade his 18" gold rims for mines... but its just just to try it out.

heavier tires won't help ya.. it will make the handling not as good. i tried heavier tires.. and the handling was very slow, lumbering.. made the car feel like crap.. but if you want get some Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S.. you'll see they're really nice..

You'll just be adding unsprung weight with heavier tires and your ride quality will suffer. Your suspension's not just holding the car up, it's holding the wheels onto the ground. the more weight it has to fight to keep in contact with the road, the rougher it will feel and the worse it will handle...

Be careful though, wheel hop is quite bad on your suspension. a Stabilizer bar would be beneficial when it comes out!

Yeah, it happened to me once... I think it's cool and all, but if I was side by side with a friend, I wouldn't want him to pass me... Especially in his stock LX Civic or my other friend's stock 87 Corolla... that would suck!

if you spin out in first gear.. try not pushing the gas as much. : ) it works for me and i got more torque than u.

P.S but i also have a 9.25" foot print with my tires... hrm.

either way step on the gas slowly, you can full throttle it, its just you hafta make it a gradual increase.

In my xA, with stock tires, I have to be careful when on wet roads. I don't know how many times I lost traction... It's fun to scare the ____ out of people in a controlled spin, though *I don't do this on purpose, but when it happens, I can control it* ...if only my car was rear wheel driven  The scions are very torquey...they just need tires to grip better
