burning smell

Default burning smell

hey for some reason in my leftwheel well it smells like buring plastic or something. it smeels like its coming from my brakes but i cant be beating on them thtat hard because right wheel well smeels fine. anybody have this happen to the or does anybody know what it may be before i go to the dealer and get a story?

Well i just posted something similar to this not to long ago. It turned out to be oil that they dripped when they did an oil change. The samell has since gone away...but i noticed sometimes i smell the brakes if i go to the wheel well. I think that's just the way the tC is.

Same here, but its my wheel bearings. Fixed under warranty! Should better take it to dealer and check!

wheel im goin for an oil change 2morrow im kinda hoping its all kool but i have a feeling it may be the bearings like u said

yeah definitely let us know if the wheel bearings FAILED already.. sheesh!!??

and to EISO.. what did they tell you (dealer) about the wheel bearing failure?? was it clicking at all?

Have your brakes checked....If you ride your brakes down a hill they might have a burning smell...And you can also GLAZE out your rotors causing you brakes to squeek...

ok i just woke up im gonna be heading to the dealer soon but does anybody know the signs of a wheel bearing failing. i dont think its my brakes b/c i really dotn beat on the much at all . but u never know

The dealer said they didnt know anything about it, only they know that its the wheel bearings. Suddenly 3 days later, they told me they fixed it and I can come pick it up.

good news i went for my oil change and the burning smell was only a black plastic bag the really melted onto my exhaust so nothign wrong with my car thank god

Wonder if that happened to me too with my smell....O WELL! Doesnt smell anymore!
