A couple of questions......
My tC hit 30k miles the other day and I'm on my way to Toyota to have it serviced. My dealership is recommending the 30k mile service. How important is this service? I looked online and it doesn't sound like it's worth $300. All they do is inspect everything. Lately I've been thinking off doing a few mods to the car. My car is pretty much stock except for a few minor things. What mod should I do next? I just ordered HIDs online and I'm going to install them next week. Should I get the lip spoiler? Any feedback would be awesome!
kinda depends on which direction you're taking your tc... all show some go? all go some show? i dunno.. i think the greatest thing to do yo your car is lower it. its a little bit of everything..
If you want to go with performance, and want noticeable, big bang for your buck mods, go with the following:
Tires
Springs
Sway(s)
You really cant beat that impact with any other type of mod money wise. For power, you can go with IHE, but honestly you will spend as much money as above (more depending on what you get) and will end up with a not so great improvement, definitely not as noticeable and usable as the mods listed above.
A short shifter is a great investment too. Check out doctorisotope.com for his stuff on that. Best value out there that I know of and very good parts.
For looks my opinion will be different than many obviously, but I prefer a clean looking car, so no body kits, wings, etc for me. My list for asthetic mods to have include:
Lowering (springs again)
LED swaps for the interior (feel free to hit me up on doctorisotope.com for questions on that)
Shorty antenna
Grills
Wheels, if they are nice, not blingy
De-badge
Of course the list could go on and on for the looks mods.
No, the $300 service is absolutely not worth it. No matter what they tell you, it is NOT required to keep your warranty intact and is pretty much a waste of money. Just do it yourself. And a lot of dealers will charge you for a default toyota service, not car specific. I have seen lists of things, half of which dont apply to our car at all.
