Ummmm WTF?

*Scribbles note to self, never move to Cali.....ever*

And I thought the "no tint on the front windows" was retarded....

I'd have a defense lawyer on retainer for that BS. I mean that's really what it is.

You're telling me I can walk onto a car lot, buy...

-- A brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, with a 4 cylinder engine with aggressive exhaust, an intercooler, and a turbo that makes it push out about 271 hp or...

-- A brand new Eclipse that has most of the same stuff, pushing about 263 horsepower or...

-- A Mustang GT pushing 300 horsepower OR.....

-- A brand new Mustang Shelby GT 500 supercharged and pushing 500 HORSEPOWER....

But I can't buy a stock Scion tC and tinker with it to produce even half the power of any of those? And it's because 'they come like that from the dealer?'

Oh yes....my lawyer and I would have a field day. Seriously, y'all need to organize and form a petition or something. That's a load of crap.
well i guess the idea behind it is that if it comes from the dealer, at least it's passed the emission stuff that california gets all **** about. kinda like HIDs, how they can't say anything with lexus and bimmers, but get all excited when they see a tC or a civic with HIDs because they know HIDs aren't stock.

(Assumes, but isn't sure that HID's are the bright-@$$ headlights....)

Well, in my case, I want HID's...but only for my 'brights' bulbs. That way when some a-hole cuts me off, I can ENLIGHTEN him just a bit and make him fully aware of his mistake.

well i guess i better not tint mine cause i've been debating and now that has me 100% yeah all those cars are already emission approved but i get where your going with it. but still they do that alot cause people think street racing is a joke and when they kill someone they start to realize that reality isn't a joke when it comes to hurting other people and if you see on the forums about people dieing from accidents, you'll see it's usually in caliornia, so yeah that has alot to do with it on why there so strict here.

Given what's been said so far, I don't think I'd have too much of a problem, since I mainly just want to tinker with the lil things like headers, exhaust and intake, with little or no exterior mods.....but still. I'd be ____ed off just on principle. It's MY car, I shelled out the cash for it, screw the bureaucrats...I'll do what I damned well please to MY car.

You laugh but I'm serious. Hell, if I could, my brights would be 1,000 candle power flood lights. I knew a guy once...the husband of a friend's sister...he has or had a jeep with the extra four lights on top. I Asked why he needed them and that's the same thing he told me "if someone cuts me off....they KNOW it, I assure you."

strict rules in california is not abad thing the only thing that sucks is usually the people that arent doing anything wrong are the ones getting nailed for them. i can see y he got pulled over for the tinted taillights because at night sometimes they are hard too see. i got pulled over for my exhaust literally right as i got out of my driveway. here in cali like most people say it depends on the cops. you get lucky sometimes and you get nailed sometimes so you want that turbo kit you know you will be taking the risk. i know i will be when i put my on in a couple weeks

Yeah all the lil wannabe fast and furious racers screwed it up for everyone. They kill a few people being stupid and now the rest of the tuner crowd has to suffer for it.

Yes there is. I wouldn't have wrote it if it doesn't exist. Plus, I visited the school in person. XD
