what the hell. I get around 270 if im lucky. When I fill up, it takes about 10.5 gallons.

270/10/5 = 25.7 MPG

What the hell. I'm all stock motor, a/t.

Any explanations?

I've gotten 420 miles on 13-odd gallons of gas.

Same. You can drive it for a whole day and it still tells you it's 100% full!

I hope thats sarcasm I'm sensing there.

And dont forget that driving habits directly effect your gas milage. In the example above, doing 115 (besides being a speed violation, police would be salivating) keeps your engine at high RPMs, which burns more fuel, resulting in a hummer-esque 13 mpg. "Normal" driving, with a mix between freeway and city streets, will net you between 24 and 27 mpg. I have gotten 30.1 mpg (with S/C), but that was on a freeway trip, going no faster than 75 mph.

Short story-- RPMs low (no more than 3500) + Sustained = higer mpg
RPMs High (higher than 4k) + sustained = wannabe hummer

dont forget the faster you're going, the higher the aerodynamic drag, and we all know drag increases exponentially.

but when did this become an MPG discussion?
