Default Hatch Rattle Poll

My '06 has been in for 8 days now. I see alot on the forums about rattles and am getting concerned that my car might be in worse shape when I get it back then when I brought it in. If your rattle has been fixed please post the fix if it's other than those listed below:

*New rubber stoppers.
*Foam on side hatch catches.
*Tightening hinges.
*Removing roof liner and insulating.
*Adjusting latch.

I got my 06 about a month ago and ive had the rattle since day one. The dealer has no idea what is causing it, so ive just lived with it. Oh well. It still has a toyota engine, thats all i care about.

To each his own, but I think that's totally unacceptable. If they cant fix it, then it's a lemon... which of course it isn't. Your dealer just needs better mechanics.

I recently developed a rattle back there, but I was relieved to find out it was just how the rear luggage cover is snapped into it's clips. If it shifts to one side I get the rattle. I just adjust the cover by shifting it toward the other side of the car and it goes away. It comes back once in a while when I hit really bumpy roads, but the same fix works all the time. I think a permanent fis is easy to come up with, once I find the time to do it.

I agree with spyguy....my old Ford Escort didn't rattle. I wouldn't trade my TC for it though!

I had the hatch rattle, along with many others, from the second week. They kept telling me there was a fix in the works and to just wait. I got tired of waiting and filed a complaint with Scion. They made an appointment for me to bring the car in and the area rep would check it out. They claim that replacing the hatch struts was the problem. In the process of replacing them, they damaged my bumper but that is another story. They managed to fix six other rattles and the hatch did stop its constant rattling...for a while. About a month later it started to return and it has gotten worse. They really need to solve this one.
