how does a VVT-i Cam Controller WORK?
The stock ecu should control the timing system on your cams which will define how fuel is injected into the pistons. With a cam controller you could possibly improve the ammount of fuel that goes into your pistons for a better valve timing. That's what I know or at least think I know...
A cam controller can only do so much, the real timing comes from the cams themselves and the size and shape of the lobes that dictate when and how the valves open.
Just pop on over to HowStuffWorks.com and do a search on how an engine works, it's all there, also a quick search on Google about VVT-i will lead you to lots of info as well.
