how does a VVT-i Cam Controller WORK?

Default how does a VVT-i Cam Controller WORK?

i'm playing with the idea of getting one, but i dont really know what would it improve to my tC...can somebody explain how they work? thnks!

The stock ecu should control the timing system on your cams which will define how fuel is injected into the pistons. With a cam controller you could possibly improve the ammount of fuel that goes into your pistons for a better valve timing. That's what I know or at least think I know...

hmm..if that it, me like....would it increase generoulsy the performance in a stock tC?

Generously? Doubtful, otherwise we'd all recommend getting one if it unlocked real power.

A cam controller can only do so much, the real timing comes from the cams themselves and the size and shape of the lobes that dictate when and how the valves open.

Just pop on over to HowStuffWorks.com and do a search on how an engine works, it's all there, also a quick search on Google about VVT-i will lead you to lots of info as well.
