Maintenance Required just lit!
I bought my Scion TC 06 rs2 less than 6 months ago and the maintenance required light lit today when I was driving to work. My car is at 17,600 miles. the las oil change I did was around 14,700 miles. Does anybody know what the problem might be?
The only thing I remember that I think that hurt my car was when I went down town seattle my I was following my friend to find a parking spot, my friend went to this drive way which wa s really stiff, My car is lowered and I thought I could make it safely but halfway thru I hit something. That was saturday night. So if thats the case then the maintenance required light shouldve lit yesterday, or sunday when I drove the car.
Please help! Again its 17,600+ miles.
THanks!!

The maintenance light is just an indicator light that reminds you that you need an oil change. This is all in your manual.
The light can be reset very easily and can be reset to different intervals, between 1K and 5K miles. If you need an oil change, get it and reset the light. If you don't need an oil change, just reset the light and reset it a 2nd time when you next get the oil change. Again though, all in the manual and there is nothing wrong with your car.

Turn the car onto acc. Set the tripometer to odometer (cycle through it if its already on odometer). Turn it off. Hold the tripometer button down and turn the car back onto acc. Keep holding the lever and you will see 5 bars and they will count down until you see 5 dashes. Now you can let go of the lever and you are done.
Its in the manual.
