Default my tc got damaged in a hit and run! please help

okay my car was parked at my friends house next to the road. not in it, but in the grass next to it. somebody did a nice hit and run on it and im wondering if their homeowners insurance will cover it. somebody told me it wont because it was too close to the road and thats town property and not their property. what do you guys think?

The only time home owner's insurance will cover anything car related is if you have parts not attached to the car that are being stored in your home (garage, storage shed, etc.).

i mean, why even have car insurance if you have home owners?

i'm going to march right into my car insurance agency first thing monday morning, tell them i'm getting ripped off, and then cancel my policy.

Since your car is registered/insured, you can't really get anything from the home owners insurance. That might imply if say you had a project car in the garage and the garage fell on top of the car.

But pretty much anything related to your case would be your car insurance... well actually the other guy but since it's a hit and run you don't get that information.

Home owners won't cover it though, since it was in no way part of whats covered... it wasn't in the house or garage.

Also even if parts of the car are stored in the home the home owners insurance probably won't cover it because of the fact of you aren't paying on those parts for your insurance every year/month

If I install a $5k audio system and then I call my insurance and say it got stolen, why on earth would they take my word for it and give me 5grand? Never going to happen.

Pay no attention to everyone making fun.. some people think they know it all.

One quick correction:
Your auto insurance will not cover anything inside your vehicle if it is not permanently bolted to the car. That includes portable GPS, sub woofers that aren't bolted in, or any of your personal possessions.
You need homeowner's or renter's insurance to cover that.
If someone else is at fault and you have their info and your stuff gets damaged, then the other person's auto insurance will pay for the damage.

And final word - home owner's insurance will not do anything to resolve this loss or any other loss involving a car. If your car is ever damaged for any reason regardless of the circumstances, auto insurance will be the only insurance involved. Even if a house falls on it while parked in the garage.

Lesson learned, dont park in the street. Park in a parking lot.
