Thats why I'm letting my insurance fight it out with them. I'm just going to keep on em so they know I am serious about this. I refuse to be ignored or turn into just another case number for them. They screwed up and I need a car. So we'll see what happens.

Honestly, everytime I turn the key of my rental car its scares me a little. I'm going to have a lot of trouble driving my tC if I get it back. Just something creepy about sitting inside a car that caught on fire ya know?
No updates today from Toyota's lawyers.

you should start an electrical fire inside of the dealer and ask them if a cigarette did it

good luck man

Yell at that dealer alot...day and night...then put up flyers w/ the sales person and service manager announcing their wedding (i'm assuming their both males, and heterosexual)

ok, this post got off topic really quick with that rental car stuff. anyway, there is another thread that just got posted earlier about the cruise control being the cause of an electrical fire. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55179

just because its april fools, people have to act like idiots. present company included. but seriously, was there a recall?

Dont put that in this post. You might actually scare someone. Keep it in the original april fools post. I know those pics of the burnt car freaked me out a little. Imagine leaving your dog in the car for a sec, or taking a nap in your car.

Seriously. I sometimes nap in my car during my lunch break. That's a little creepy now.

Yeah, Im with you on that one. But take some comfort in the fact that we only know of 1 tC that has mysteriously caught on fire. If there is another, then start to panic. Or learn to nap in your car with one eye open.

I finally looked at this thread. That really sucks Jim. I feel for you.
After having watched too many Alien movies I think it would be safe to say someone bagged one of Ripley's bad guys in your tC. Probably a baby one.

i work in the quality department... for a subsidiary of toyota actually. we dont deal with japan made cars (tC), however, whenever we see a part starting a fire...

the whole place erupts. its a huuuuuge deal among engineers. theere will be meetings and long hours involved. im sure the dealership countacted upper management at toyota. they would LVOE to have that car. im sure. i know we would.

like i said, my department deals with big 3 quality only.
