I would also press them to give you a loaner instead of insurance...like what has been said before the more you use insurance the higher your premiums can go...

So many comments about not bothering Toyota, and only dealing with the insurance. . . why not contact both and be upfront with them? It may speed things up.

Please let us know what else is going on. I would be furious. I think I'd chew the manager/supervisor/owner of the dealership out like nobodies business. I can't belevei they arent helping you. WOW! I'd have SCION CSUTOMER SERVICE on the phone and be in fornt of the dealership on my cell. I'd tear it up.

OK! And lets say you feel like you have no way out at that point. So if SCION isn't really working fast enuf and then the dealership is still being a$$holes. A godo way to get exposure and the daelership to respond ASAP is your local media, daily newspaper and news stations. With pictures and videos and a nice detailed discription they will post the story right away and both scion and the dealership have some bad exposure. And then boom, you'll be amazed how fast you get your new scion. I'd tell them that you will goto local media before you do it so the dealership has a minute to change their mind and act really nice.

I know form eprsonal experience a few people that threathened to goto the media and how fast a situation got resolved. YOU DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG! And the companies that you used and work with are not helping you out to the full extent. You ARE being taken advantage off. CALL SCION, SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP OFFICIALS, AND GET THIS DONE!

Shouldn't take more than one week to get this done with the right moves and steps!

Excellent idea with threating with the media!!! If things are looking crappy still i would agree that a local newspaper would love to get some dirt on Toyota. Thats what they are there for......I hope things work out for you. This is definately a sad situation

Because it is that easy...

Guys, by looking at my watch, it has hardly been two whole days since the incident (right?). JimAllison seems to be taking the right measures, and we'll see what comes of it - and hopefully soon.

I believe the last thing we, as Scion/Toyota enthusiasts, want to see is Scion catching crap for something that may be directly the dealer's fault.

I don't know about you, but I happen to like Scion's current reputation.

Damn guys, he just called Scion last night and you're already saying he should threaten media coverage?! Scion's not the bad guy here, the people at the dealership are _______s, not Scion. Scion/Toyota will take care off him without the need to threaten. I mean come on, we're not talking about a Ford here.

I said if things get to that point where no one is willing to help in about a week's time. He should have an answer on his situation within a week, a good 5 business days. After that I'd take the media route

Default Please let me know

JUST about to call and place an order for a tC, when I saw this.
This is the only negative incident that I've encountered in my research.
Hope that it all works out for you, and that it is a rare 'X-Files' type occurence and not a true defect.

In my opinion, Scion should replace your tC, and use your damaged one for research.

The suggestion that you may've caused the damage by 'smoking', what...did you sit in the car with a gas mask, or climb into the center console with a blowtorch?
What a MORON.

PLEASE let me know what Scion does for you, it WILL affect my decision to buy.
Until now, I was totally committed to a tC purchase.

Now may consider a Civic or a Celica.

I love my tC and I hope this is just some freak accident with the lights or something because I don't want anyone else to enjoy their car less. I hope that Scion gets this resolved for me quickly. I didn't post this to badmouth Scion just wanted to show you what happened and get some advice which you have all been great with. Like a scion support group. Thanks to everyone that has replied and given me support.

Hopefully I'll have more news for you all soon. Thanks again for all the support.

I just thought about this, would it be related to our windows? Our windows get like 2 minutes of power even after we shut off the car. So if we had a faulty electrical wiring would this cause it to keep sending energy and somehow overload and cause some sparks?
