Default Actual dealer here...

Sandy Springs Scion
6475 Roswell Road
Atlanta, Ga 30328
404.550.5776 - cell

Allocation in my region means that Toyota/Southeast Toyota (SET) gives out a plan of which cars each dealer is going to get in the near future.

I just checked my region's dealer only site and they have changed it back from the 5 sp. auto back to the 4 sp. auto. I was looking forward to that.

I just called them up and Damon picked up, he said theirs are arriving on the 15th. I asked him about the texas dealerships and he said maybe july or august. I asked about ipod connector placement and he said they can put it in several spots, the glovebox, the cubby under the a/c controls, and the armrest. Since the supply of cars is hitting the west coast on the 15th, i'm hoping it won't be too much longer for texas and everywhere else.

anyway, the information about the allocations are correct. allocated cars are cars that are slated to come to us.

Mainrodax, i am glad you got a hold of Damon to answer your questions, he has a little more data on those things than i do. From what I understand he was talking to the Scion Rep. today and I was having a great day off.

http://www.maitascion.com/ At the top of the page is the number to the dealer. Call and ask for the Scion department. I have talked to them and they are good people. But keep your mits off my 5 spd SW tC! :p

They are in Citrus Heights (Sacramento). I am going to take the train up there and drive it home.

I'm not allowed to have a manual even tho I practiced driving one and then my parents started to complain about how they don't know how to drive a manual and how in a couple of years i'll be getting a new car and they'll be stuck with a manual !!!!

Secretly I wanna get a automatic and trade it in for a manual, hehe but i doubt that will happen.

thanks.
Hey Vlad-
You'll know by the price she was quoted when she put down her deposit. Base MSRP for the 2006 is rising by $200, so if she ordered an auto tC, base price would be $17,315 for a 2005 and $17,515 for a 2006. Due to the fact that Scion seems to be pulsing the release of the 2006 models, I'd imagine that it would be a 2005. It is likely that you will be able to retrofit the 06 headunit into an 05, so unless the steering wheel audio controls are a big deal, I think you'll be fine either way.

And yes, everyone, I'll post MASSIVE pics of the Nautical Blue tC as soon as it comes in, probably in a couple of weeks since it won't hit the port until 5/31.

Casey
I really don't understand why people order a car late in the model year without considering when the new model year cars come in. Don't you know that resale value is directly related to the model year ? even if there are very few changes to the car, you're stil gonna take a $2000 hit on resale comparing 05 and 06 model in a couple of years. That will easily justify the price increase for the 06. Not sure how scion will play this as they are commited to "pure pricing" but for other cars, usually when the new model year becomes available, dealers discount the old model year. Again, that's mainly because of the resale value issue. For the tC theer aren't any big changes, except maybe replacing that horrible stereo head unit which was a real pain. Also they improved the color lineup a bit (although it is still very limited with a few very notable missing-in-action colors).

^^wow, this is exactly what i was gonna say. maybe these little upgrades aren't worth it to you to wait, but maybe your resell value is worth saving if you can hold out a few (more) weeks!?

i could have bought one off the lot the end of last month. a dealer had the car i wanted in sw, but i know my resell value would be that much better if i just waited a few weeks for the 2006. sure, i get the upgrades and i pay $200 more, but it'll be worth it in a few years if/when i sell it!

called the dealership in arlington, va and he said they won't be coming in still aug/sept. i then informed him about the '06's on scion.com and he said 'oh...... hold on a second'

said i could put $500 down on a '06 for when it comes in but doesn't know when.

i then called kay jennings scion in springfield, va and the guy said he'd be getting the '06's in at the end of the month. gonna call up the woodbridge location with this info and see what they say.

I have talked to a reliable source that sais that the 06 has addressed all the known issues of the 05, like the hatch can rattle and some other little minor things. I talked to him about the glass wind screen shattering. He said that he has heard of a few isolated cases but nothing that would prove that it is a design flaw.

The first boatload hits the port of NY on June 14 and will be on dealer's lots by the 20th or 21st. Other regions may be different, but that's the schedule for the East coast.

Hey ScionDragon (or anyone else),
Any chance that the easy-paint-chipping issue might have been addressed also?
'cause that'd be *sweet*!
Er... and I asked the same thing in the "Scion Vehicle Changes for 2006" thread:

Man, I hate it how so many dealers are uninformed about everything. I came into one of the dealerships the other days, 2 questions:

Me: "Hi, when will you be getting your first 2006 model year tCs?"
Salesman: "Oh... Hmm I would say November or so sounds reasonable."
Me: "Uhm... They are out already, and are arriving within weeks. There was an official update from Scion."
Salesman: "...Let me check... ::10 minutes later:: Yeah, I guess so"
Me: "I also would like to know the specifics on the $400 college graduate rebate, I think I might be eligible, but the details are not as clear from what I've read."
Salesman: "Rebate?"
Me: "Yeah, there is a rebate, $400 if you have recently graduated, or will soon, from college. I don't know the exact specifics, that is why I am here talking to you."
Salesman: "I don't think there is any rebate..."
Me: ::slowly pull out baseball bat out of back::

haha, yea that's pretty much how it is unless you talk to a dealership that knows their ____... also the rebate is only for if you finance through scion/toyota... the difference i can save is more than $400 if i go through a different credit union/company/whatever its called, even w/ the best interest rate scion offers

I know... I've only got about 2 weeks worth of a window before the "rabble" of the other dealers figure this out. Unfortunately, I sitll have 4 of the 2005 model year cars coming in before the '06 hits.
