Pure Price, a ripoff in this economy?
so what about now when they are buying the parts for the tc for cheaper....ur telling me they're not making an increasing profit since they are buying the same for less and selling it for the same...THAT doesnt make sense since im 100% positive that all the parts they buy to make the car is not pure priced and atleast SOME of that has gone down
woah easy there.
when you come back with solid evidence that scion is buying parts for the tC for less money then well talk.
until then, dont make stuff up unless you can back it up.

LOL.
Toyota isn't selling scions for fun, did you think they were giving the cars away at their cost to make them?
Seriously, http://www.camryforums.com/forum/ Bye bye

This is prolly the worst thread on here, why are you complaining. If you don't like the pure pricing you shouldn't have bought a scion in the 1st place. There is nothing you can do about it now.
^^hoodie my bro... is this thread beginning to become pointless or what? lmao... there are so many that seem to be P.O.'d about "pure pricing" of Scion... yet they seem to be blind to us that know just how close to actual cost to the dealer and Toyota Scion's pure pricing actually is.... holy moly...this is nuts.. lol
This topic in no way/shape/form is informative for someone looking into buying a Scion.
When you're looking for a new vehicle, you want to know
A: How much is it
B: How much do I get at that cost
C: How much will it be worth when i'm done
Scion leaves nothing to be hidden for the first two, and KBB answers the next.
It's now just up to the buyer if they think for instance the Si is a better buy because of _______
(_____ = I pay xtra 4grand for vtecyo, eff the sweet roof and clean bodylines)
Anything I missed?

and yellowhoodie...i dont have exact proof....but that is not exactly the easiest to find..i think anyone with common sense can figure that most things r cheaper now in this economy....and scion is ONE OF THE VERY FEW companies that sell at pure price...common sense would dictate that they would not buy car parts for the same price as 2 yrs ago in a economic boom...if scion is buying it for the same price it is simply stupid...as are all of you that claim to buy scion bc it is the best bang for the buck...again...i have no prob w/ppl that buy the tc for certain characteristics like its looks...and of course some ppl have money to spend based on just looks..i on the other hand work my ___ off...and when i spend money i like to no that i received the best bang for the buck possible...hence me canceling my scion tc purchase and y i am currently looking around for a v6 camry even though its a completely diff grade of car compared to the tc...scion lost my business...or my $900 or w/e they woulda made if i had bought a tc and i hope this thread inspires more ppl to atleast think for themselves whether or not they want to buy a scion in the current state of the economy

juststop, your making yourself look like a fool.
do not try to argue about something unless you have solid evidence to support your theories.
"figure" is not evidence.
thats the same as "thinking" "assuming" "guessing" etc etc.
hopefully, your camry makes you happy and you dont make as much a fool of yourself with your "figures" over here.

ok...rcz designs..
me personally look into best bang for the buck in a new car which is y im going for toyota being the most reliable in my opinion and etc etc...
yellowhoodie...i understand ur saying take it or leave it...i have decided to leave it and go buy a toyota instead....im just arguing on here so that other ppl that are confused are provided w/both sides of the argument and if they are looking for the same thing as me then should def. not for scion currently...i absolutely think pure pricing is great....but only when economic situations are ideal..or its priced right for that time period...

oh poo... lol... Im not bashing ya bro...but if you want to roll the KBB value dice.... they are actually pretty far off of actual value.... and not just with Scion's... they basically over value just about any make/ model out there.... I like their values...but if you want a value that you can expect to get for any ride... use the NADA book...thats what most dealers use for value reference.....
You're saying in this economy, since their paying less for car parts since the "boom" in the economy, they should charge us less?
I didn't see the price of any other vehicle of it's caliber go down?
Again, the only vehicles losing in this battle are the gas hogs, and the american brands.
Luckily our cars, and a few cars in it's class aren't either.
Now as far as you getting more for your buck out of a v6 camry (assuming used, if the price was even comparable to a tc) it depends on what you wanted.
The tc wasn't born to please people who wanted a 4 door family car. It wasn't born to please people who wanted luxury. Now if you wanted an affordable, reliable vehicle you are the first to own and enjoy, the Scion will be on your list of top 3 to look at.
Now again, the end result in best bang for the buck out of the Scion tc and it's components are in the eye of the buyer. I didn't mind paying extra for the cleaner looking car, with the only-in-its-class all glass roof, and IIRC the only one in it's class with knee and side curtain airbags?
Buy hey, thats just me. Some people might not agree, but for WHAT IT IS, it seems to be the best for the money.
Mouse, whatever, lol. NADA it is then. I don't look up resale value real often. It is what it is, when I trade in my car i'll find out.

i think its funny that your "providing" both sides of the argument.
really, i see no argument here.
You and OP: Pure pricing sucks! but we have no evidence
Everyone Else: Pure pricing is great, look at all the evidence we have.

this is just ridiculous.
im all for debates and arguments and challenging the norm.
but this thread is the perfect example of what NOT to do.
"hey guys, lets start an argument over the internet based on our own personal beliefs with no logical reasoning or evidence to back anything up"
common sense just tells you that a dumb move. haha

Your like a confused 10 year old girl.
Only your a 36 year old man, so don't get your hopes up.
what evidence do u exactly have...like some bullets would be nice..not bashing u...trying to find exact evidence...ok...

now i can see y u would buy a tc...cause apparently that sunroof and airbags are that important to u...so ur actually buying it cause u like those features and no other car has those...i understand that completely and good job on being happy w/ur decision
for me i qualify as bang for the buck a reliable car w/adequate room...so apparently we are looking for diff things and that is what separates us...a sunroof for some reason i never liked and i never use even in my car now....and i wanted reliable power....sure u can turbo a tc and make it beat a camry....but i would argue that a v6 camry even though its power may be less will be more reliable than a turboed car and all the headaches that go along w/it...cause no matter what something always will go wrong...i just like the idea of "stock hp" and if a car wasn't meant to handle that much power stock...y should i torture it...
