Kind of. From 32544 to 90210 <only cali zip I know off hand, its 2121 miles. So take 2121/30=70.7. So then take 70.7*2=141.4. Then take 141.4*3=$424.2. So on the high end, thats how much would be spent on gas. Thats getting a 30mpg average with a gas cost of $3 a gallon. Its only $2.19 where Im at, so $3 is a little on the high side. Thats why it would be good if this did not start until next year. That way everyone could get things together to do something like this. Also if we could get sponsores for this, it might help pay for gas & things like this.

well heres a little route i pulled out, all we need to do now is add the hotels and restaraunts! Its like the best way to travel because it basically passes through where most of you scion guys are judging from where ur profile says u live! if its no fun for the people in california because they dont drive much, why dont we all just meet up in texas??? thatd b pretty fun! and for the people at texas, well they could drive back with us to florida/ california and stay a while then go back to texas. idk if that sounded right but w/e heres the map!

The Cannonball Run was a real race, and a movie was later made about it. It eventually evolved into One Lap of America.

to those of you who don't know or have never scene a gumball rally, go to the following link and use it as a reference to either buy or rent the "Mischeif 3000" DVD. Its a great documentary of an actual gumball rally where hundreds of people that have tons of money to drive $300,000 vehicles across country and get multiple speeding tickets.

http://teckademics.com/

I live in AZ so for me to join would be fun but also a short lived trip. I don't want to drive from here to Florida and then back so we if we can the details worked out I would definetely consider doing this. I always thought it would be a lot of fun after watching the old Burt Reynolds movie and then the Teckademics DVD to do myself.

well one side of the country is going to have to come over the other side and than a "rally" across the continent or option 2 would be do the batons handoff across the border type of deal where each player from each state can race from city to city or something. that way a lot of people can do this and it would be cool if we could track the people via GPS to prevent cheating and the sort and in the end a certain team will win or option 2 people from each state would meet in their state in a designated area and race to a point in the middle of the country or somethingwe got to get that down first, the what kind of race, I mean rally, is it going to be.

Thats a great idea. Amarillo is a big enough town to host somthing like this. Now we just need a vote on if this is good for the masses. Then if it is, the clubs can make out the ideas of what places to stay on the way there. Seeing it would be hard for us FL ppl to make out a good road trip idea for CA ppl & so on.

ppl are looking at it all wrong. say that you live in cali and we are going to start in florida well you are going to have to drive to florida to get there but when it ends you are back home or close to it and vise versa it is actualy better for it to start on the other side of the conutnry its not going to be as fun just going half way across the country.

and like MTcX said check out the teckademics videos that is how real rallys should be.

but for me its either going to be this thing or the aka rally one way or the other im taking a nice long trip next year

U have a good idea of starting at one side of the country but I'm thinking that people will start to complain on how much they have to spend to just get there...and in a ways its true....and I dont wanna say "if u don't have the money tough Sh*t, stay home" because I'd like to see numerous people make the trip that wouldn't normally do this type of thing in the first place u kno? In this case a "RALLY" is more going to be a convoy or a pack travel to a destination to mingle and meet other owners...personally I'm not really wanting to go "race" across the country; I just got a ticket last week. But I'm sure if we have people chime in we can get more ideas....Please anyone if you have a feesable Idea just throw it out there. No idea is not outta the question yet..

How about cutting the country into 4 "Regions" and meet in the middle of the country. The region that arrives with the most in their caravan wins the ralley. Drivers can hook up to the caravans along the way on routes and times previously established.

Make sure it ends on a Saturday for a weekend of BBQ and drinks and 10,000 Scion owners....probably hit the news Have some dealers pay for the food and drinks.

Marti Gra (sp?) would be something It would be interesting to say the least. A few thousand scions (with a lot of the guys with hand fulls of beads ) rolling up & down the streets.

Saturday for a weekend of BBQ and drinks and 10,000 Scion owners.
IMO all of you are thinking way to big...I cant picture more than 200 scions getting involved with this. If you could promote it alot more with the help of some companies/dealers than you could get alot more attention. 1 thread isnt going to cut it.

Yup, but the concept started with one post. Get the right sponsors and it could be huge. Or...just end up at a strip club with 8 Scions.
