Default Shifting Trouble

My Tc has 65k miles and the shifting feels a little stiff trying to go in first and reverse. It takes a good budge to get it into gear. Is this because of my clutch or maybe the cable bushings?

Something in the shifter or clutch may need to be adjusted. I don't know how hard it is to shift.
Have you tried double clutching it before putting it in gear? (When in natural push the clutch in all the way, release, push in again and put in to first.)
Seeing that you are in a cold area, the oil in the transmission my be getting thicker. 1st and reverse are gears that are used when you first start your car. How long ate you letting it warm up? Is it when you just start your car or all the time? My old Honda was hard to shift and then got easier to shift after a transmission fluid change, a lot easier. But it had 145k on it.

It does the same thing when warm out too. Although it may be a little easier. It's been a while out here since it's been warm. Maybe I need to drive another Tc and see the difference. Last manual I drove was an SRT 4 and the shifting was so easy but they have like a 2 foot shifter lol.

I was just reading on another forum some guys fixing this by changing the fluid. So I guess I might try that out first. I know according to TWM Performance they recomend the cable bushings for easier shifts. Anyone try these?

+1, try this first and see if it helps. Have you ever changed out the stock fluid? Use Redline MT-90 it works great in the tc tranny.

Switch to Redline MT-90 or Motul Gear 300.

Get Doctor Isotopes bushings they are the best out there IMO. I just got his shortshifter and bushings and a custom wooden shift **** and it is one of the best purchases i've made so far.
The difference between the shortened shifter and the bushings vs. stock made and incredible difference.
Doctor Isotope FTW!!!!!!!!
