I see the extra $8,000 is plastic bodywork slightly hurt straightline performance. Too bad I have no need for a Twin Ring track car since I commute on the streets.

as a proud owner of both a 2005 tc & a 2007 SI I can honestly tell you guys I love them both! the tc makes a great dd to beat up & the SI a nice project (gotta love that k20) I bought the Si after my rsx-s was smashed by a drunk driver.

To the op, like others have suggested continue to make ur research & decide what best fits ur needs. As for performance the Si will win hands down. The tc needs to have some form of FI to match up w/ the SI. Low-end power is lacking but if you know how to drive the car it is not much of an obstacle. here is a vid (posted by rhythmnsmoke) of a supercharged tc (9psi pulley) & other goodies not being able to walk a lightly modded SI (w/ the hondata reflash things would have been very different) http://youtube.com/watch?v=dNKaOD86wOE

In all do ur research & good luck w/ ur decision!

I know what you mean i drove an 05 type-s before i bought my tc back in 04. Cant stand the lack of low end power. You need that to get you out of hole. The type-s did not feel ballZy at all. So i went with Tc. Coming from American muscle theres no lag whats so ever. Thats what i felt from the Tc "no lag". I wanted instant power and didnt get that from the Acura-210hp. Owning a T-TYPE REGAL which i used to drive everyday, the only thing close to what i felt had somewhat of torque was a Toyota which are known for torque in the drag-world. I just couldnt stand the fact that i needed to rev up so high on the type-s to get any power from it just not used to that. EVERYONE SHOULD REMIND THEMSELFS, ITS NOT HOW HIGH YOU CAN REV UP, ITS HOW QUICK YOU CAN GET THEM UP.
I have a WRX-with cars like these and the SI, yes it feels like it's hard to get moving early---when ure not familiar with it. You drive these a different way to access the power, and once u get familiar with that...you'll learn to use it effectively in low end as well...also, with these cars--with a simple and cheap reflash(most of the time free), it'll remedy this issue as well, and u wont have to worry about getting used it--turbo cars, and these v-tec cars, u just gotta know how to drive these type-They are not the same as your naturally aspirated cars--but once u get it, you're in for a treat.

i gotta agree with you.

If you are scared to rev your engine, the Si, S2k, and type S isn't for you.

I honestly think the corolla XRS is a freaking good package. Somewhat toyota engines just feel more reliable than Hondas, although i own one myself.

Nice video but I saw that months ago. Dude, but you know that will not be the out come on every race everytime those cars meet. I beat my Friend Jacky's modded 07 SI when we was coming back from NOPI. It wasn't the same out come as the video you just posted? the answer is no. the tC won. I . I can post up the video when a supercharged tC smoke a s2000 and we all know that will not be the out come of everytime those two cars race. (anyone that deals with cars will know that,)
Must I do this LOL

So you just like to shoot your ignorant mouth off at random?

I find NOTHING funny about people losing jobs they've had for decades. A man coming home to tell his wife and kids that he no longer has a job is one of the hardest thing to do.

Wake the fúck up you ignorant moron.

First you express your hate for this country and praise another that you've only seen on a map. Now you jump up for joy when Americans fall and lose their way of living.
I'm afraid I'm never going to understand self-flagellating idiots like you.

There are actually a good amount of BMWs that are American made.

Most of Toyota/Honda/Subaru are American made.

The Camry, Car of the Year, one of the most reliable high quality cars... are American made.

I'm sure you're aware of that
The cars, planning, design, and parts are created in Japan and Germany. They are only assembled in the U.S., and only by machines in the assembly line. This is why Toyota and BMW are considered imports and not domestics regardless of where they are assembled.

I'm sure you're aware of that.

Personally, I really like the si. I test drove it and it felt great. I raced my friend in his si (I/H/E) and I barely beat him...and i mean barely. They are both great cars and ultimately your the one who is going to have to live with your decision. So go test drive them, add up the numbers and make your decision. Good luck!

The current Camry was planned and designed in the U.S. Nearly every bolt of the car is American. Infact the car is not even available in Japan (yet?).

^^^Wow, they must have advanced robotics... it even looks human.

This is why Toyota and BMW are considered imports and not domestics regardless of where they are assembled.
I know the badge is what determines whether it's an "import" or "domestic".
But where a car is made is determined where it rolls off what assembly line. In many toyota's case, that's the U.S., so they are AMERICAN made.

I'm sure you're aware of that.
Maybe now you're aware of that.

and I completely agree with you.. its all about drivers.. ill give you a good example, I beat gt3s & lambos everyday when I pass them up @ the beverly hills dealer (ill record it next time)lol.. that video showed various scenarios such as a turbo tc that would obviously beat both cars & a supercharged tc that will just about match up w/ the SI (in a pretty much stock form). I also wanted to show that a tc needs some form of "boost" to even keep up.. W/ all this I just hope to help the op make the right decision that best fits.

I traded my 05 tC auto for a new Si sedan. The si is faster stock for stock. My tC costed about the same as my si after I added the 18's, ground effects and had the sub put in, just a slight bit cheaper. Si definitely handles better and pulls harder after 50mph. My best time in my Si is 15.09 and that was completely stock. I still don't have any mods yet but after christmas that should change. Should be high13s to Low14s with I/H/E and reflash. I loved both cars. Just needed something a little more practical. Btw my tC usually got around 25mpg and no more. My Si gets around 30 with almost 35 on highway cruises but that is on 93 octane. The interior seems better put together on my Si, not as many rattles, yet. I have almost 13k on Si now. Btw I love having trunk space.

To be honest......my first choice in car wasn't the Tc but the Si because I'm just a honda guy. What stop me from getting the new SI was the dam insurance quote I received. Then again I don't mine driving the Tc.
