Then a month or so ago, a six year old kid on a bike pulled up alongside my car as I was leaving work. He leaned his bike on my car, stood on it, and started hitting me and climbing through my window grabbing at the steering wheel and horn. When I got out, this is what his bike had done to my poor car:

Wtf that has to be the most random thing you could do.

The kid had been wandering around our shop for 20-30 minutes prior to that. (My office is inside an architectural salvage warehouse.) I told him to leave, the other employees told him to leave, even the young kids playing basketball on the corner told him to leave. He wouldn't listen. I was very polite to the kid until he damaged my car.

When I saw the scratches I started screaming and cursing. I told him to get the F away from my car. Some woman down the street got mad at me for using those words. If this child is behaving in this mannner, I don't see how profanity is going to hurt him. I called a friend on the force and had an officer at the scene in 10 minutes. The cop was on my side at least. He had a nice talk with the kid's father.

I later found out that the kid has been told to leave a number of times in the past. Also, one week prior to my incident he went into our employee's apartment across the street from my office (the front door was open), took a coke out of the fridge and ran.

He no longer comes around here. Occasionally I'll see him walking home from the corner store. When he sees me, he takes off running.

Default Body Kit?

And for those of us who are severely challenged (and new to cars in general) what is a body kit? I go to college where keying and scratches are far too common. What else can I use to protect my baby?!

Well, the woman who (I am 99% sure at this point) hit my car finally called me and gave me the claim number.

My agent was happy at all the pictures I took; there were no witnesses but I am hoping this will be cut and dry.

Maybe this woman will learn to BE MORE ____ING CAREFUL.

Glad the caught the culprit. If they hadn't, I was going to suggest just some Scratch-X and a good buffing. You probably wouldn't notice it so much, plus it probably won't be the last time somebnody scrapes your bumper.

I know it's not even close to the same thing, but I put a nice 2" scratch loading a new shovel into my hatch. Hopefully mine will come out with a little work. Then maybe I'll finally get the damn Scion bumper protector sticker thing.

So I finally get in contact with the woman's insurance agent.

It turns out that she admitted that she did it - to the agent. Not to me (she never even apologized!) What a lame _____.

It's going to cost $500+ and two days of my baby.
