Either this site is turning people into dough, or you mean breeds.

always remember that someone will always have something better than you and you will also have something better than someone. you will always be poorer than someone but you are also richer than someone. you gotta be thankful for what u got.

so you offer no useful info, b!tch and complain about anything you can and leech off the good info that is offered. You are worse than the threads you complain about. Talk about contradicting yourself...

My family is not wealthy, but were not poor and I work hard as well, and I'm glad you work hard and I have the highest respect for you, but you gotta know were not driving a Benz here, how many 16 year olds do you see with a Civic EX?
Interesting... This 16 yr old doesn't even have a clue what his parents paid for it. In San Jose after tax, licensing, and fees it actually starts around $18,500- more like a tad over $19,000 if like me you assume his parents aren't stupid enough to start a 16 yr old out in a car with manual transmission and got an automatic. He was right about the $300-$350 a month figure, but if it's so easy to pay that much a month I'd like to see him try it by himself (not to mention insurance for a 16 yr old and today's California gas prices.) Anyone given a brad new Scion Tc on their 16th b-day is definately spoiled.
I do agree that anyone given a tC on their 16th birthday, despite what you 16yo's say, is spoiled.

I believe I did all that math crap for the tC once and I think it came to paying roughly $880 or so a month. Thats a bit, erm, large for a 16 year old to handle, I think.

Though I wouldnt mind being handed my tC on a golden platter when I turn 16.

You're just jealous you don't have a sugar daddy/mommy. You'd be bragging about it if you're in the same situation.

At the "ripe" old age of 24 I have seen a alot of people fail in things they should have known how to do when they were younger. They now pay the price for it by struggling. These people were givin the easy way out one too many times from not only by mom and dad, but by peers, bosses, etc... For all those griping about a kid who get's a car for free w/out working for it and have a gpa of 1.0 or below, get over it. Let life take it's course and see where they end up 8-9 yrs from now. For the people that got cars for doing well in school w/ gpa's 3.5 or higher, I applaude you and your hard work, continue w/ your education and PLEASE give us a hope for the future! I ran into a girl at the grocery store who "claims" she graduated (I asked her if she did or not) and she was having a problem figuring out how to spell the word female(filling out a club card)...she just kinda giggled like a ditz and the cashier and I exchanged one of THOSE looks.... God help us if that is what's comin out of our schools! Now enough w/ this thread, let's talk cars folks!

Well, I have a problem with people getting so worked up over stuff like this... but I also think a teenager should learn how to support themself (although I am not going to get all bent out of shape like the original poster.. its not me or my kid anyway) before they grow up to live off mom and dad forever. This world is cold and doesnt give a **** about you, so you better learn early how to survive. And I dont really consider those who dont have to work for where they are more fortunate, I see it the other way around. I think anyone who came from nothing and made something of themselves would feel the same too. I am glad for every 1974 ford, beater chevy pickup, crappy little house i lived in, as well as working 2 -3 jobs from the time I was 16 all the way through grad school. I know that no matter what is taken from me I have the know-how to take care of me and my family. So I consider myself MORE fortunate to have had to work for every thing I have.

Again, I am not all worked up over it, I could care less what someone else has or what they give thier kids, but I thought I would address the more fortunate comment, in one way to give respect to the others on here that I know worked thier a$$es off to get where they are.

People should realize that being able to "work your ___ off" for things you have, as everyone likes to say, is a privilege by itself. Most of the world "works its ___ off" but gets nowhere. I came from a country where this is often the case. You can become anything you want, doctor, lawyer, engineer, whatever, you will still make $100 a month and have enough money to not starve or go homeless. Just the fact that if you "work your ___ off" for things you get them, is being fortunate to some people.

Just realize that there are people out there who work their ___ off too, but get nothing in return, and look at you the same way as you look on people who don't have to do anything to get things in their life.

Wow, this thread blew up. From what I read, people are quick to defend their comfortable existents. Scion has a great marketing strategy; appeal to the kid, and finance the parent. This is the reaction I expected from most you guys. Thanks for the input!

sounds like someone's got a case of the Mondays

I personally feel bad for spoiled kids. They are going to have a rough time of it if they decide to grow up one day without mommy and daddy's money in their pockets.
