GOOD NEWS GUYS! for those of you with an 05-06 TC, the new lower price kit has the old tamper proof cap. NOT the new tamper proof bolt of the new 07-08 SC kit.

My kit is being installed right now at Longo toyota.. I went out there to talk to the mechanic and he showed me the old cap. NOT the bolt. awesome!

Forced induction setups require premium gas for proper engine timing.

I have a friend that works at the scion delaership....and he said that they are the same but the computer is different in the 07...so whatever that means.....they dont have that available yet

Oh, my bad. I forgot to say I called TRD and asked them about this too (a while after I wrote that), and they too said "something" was different about the 07's, so I guess its true. Their reply was rather vague and nebulous though, so there's something going on there....

There are some cool people on Scionlife, like Dieselstation and SpeedDeamon, but mostly a bunch of lames that dont know anything but try to act like they do. Maybe that's what all forums are like. I've pretty much had enough.

Be wise. Do your own research. When you read something on here, use that as a starting point, then go confirm it on your own. And don't forget to have fun, that's the point isn't it?

Peace out.

Got the car back today. Finally.. i'm supercharged. Took them 3 days cuz they didn't order the correct bracket. but oh well.. i got one hell of a deal. Total for everything including installation came out to $2700. I HAD to do it.

So anyways, on my butt dyno, I can really feel it in 1st, 2nd, and a little bit in 3rd gear.. 4th and 5th is normal. It feels like a totally different car. It's currently on the OEM 7lb pulley.. but next week.. i'll be putting in the 9.5lb pulley. I'll definitely try to dyno it after the 9.5 pulley install.

oh.. and the new lower priced kit for the 05-06 still has the old tamper proof cap. NOT the bolt.

As loyal Scion accessory customer...I've noticed (at my dealer) I pay less than what Toyota has accessories for. Never knew why until someone on here stated Toyota has special service called "Loyal parts costumer" and that helps the price decrease. They only charged me 310.00 for the taillights including tax. I remember the parts associate had to get service manager to change the price tag on them...I was so happy.

So I'm wondering if it's possible they would slash few dollars down on a S/C if you're a customer like me?

Hell, I applied for Parts Associate part time at my dealer...if hired I'll use my resources. I bet I would be the first one at my dealer who has put in a S/C?

Dieslstation, about this tamper-proof cap/bolt. I am getting the idea that you are suggesting that it's better to have the cap. Why is this?
because there is no way to take off the tamper proof bolt. currently. unless you weld something on or whatever.

Where are u getting at that price? I want one now! I would say the install would be a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. If u have done similar work before, if all you do is change oil then go to the dealer.
