Default Need advise on hand brake & rear brake work from mechanic (@135K miles)

I have 135K on my tC and had been having issues with the car rolling down when parked on a hill with the hand brake engaged.

I took it to a shop and their recommendation is:

1) Remove and replace rear parking brake cable (both sides)
2) Remove and replace front parking cable

The total cost is ~1000 including the parts.

Has anybody had this work done? Where can I find the part numbers for the cables?

They also recommended:

3) Replace the calipers
4) Clean & Adjust rear drum e-brakes

Any thoughts on 3 & 4?

Thanks in advance !

Yes it is! It does engage but does not hold. It can no longer be relied upon. I have already had it adjusted in the past and looking for a more permanent fix to hopefully last me for the life of the car (300K-400K? miles!)

So for replacing the 3 parking brake cables they estimate it is going to take about 4 hours. How long do you think it would take? The labor on that is $623 alone. The parts pricing they were quoting was too expensive: $386. I was able to find them online for $173.

I did some search on the forum and could not find a thread where the parking brake cables were replaced. Here are the part numbers for the 3 parking brake cables incase anybody else also needs it:

They said i can get some discount if rear brake calipers, rotors and pads are replaced at the same time. Their quote for replacing the rear brake rotors, pads, calipers is $170 which i think is not too bad as in the past i have paid $100 per axle (for rotors and/or pads alone).

I am going to source my owns as their quote even for calipers and brake pads is also pretty high. In the past, i have done bought my own parts and sometimes let a shop buy them depending on their quote. This is a relatively new shop that I am going to now since i moved and the owner also hired a new manager .....I know the work they do is good.
