Default I have a quick question

Dont know if this belongs here or not, so if it doesnt, just delete it or move it. thanks.

I basically wanna know if anyone else keeps having the car peel out out of nowhere. I try to release the clutch slowly and still, the car peels out, even on 2nd gear...is it the stock tires are crap or what?

depends it might be your tires are they worn enough? do you notice it happens more after a rain with the oil on the streets is still fresh (thats why you dont see many bikes on the street) i have driven manuals all my life and i noticed that besides my old old old f150 and my bobber this car has alot more take off power than anything i have ever had might not be what you are looking for but this is what i have noticed

u must remember that the tC has a high torque to hp ratio and with all that torque, the wheels are gonna spin a bit more...but i think ur problem, if it's squealin in 2nd, is the tires...they might have too much wear on em...or stop shifting at 7k rpm's

well, on my 95 Avenger i would have to try to peel out, but the tires on the tC are brand new. Just kind of surprises me when I take off on a green light and make a hell of a lot of noise

i try my best to keep it at 7-800, i press the gas very softly, but sometimes, even on dry ground, it does it

sounds kinda fishy to me. that's only like 200 rpms above idle, whenever i start off from a light that low, the car bogs like hell. i dont see how your getting them to spin.

after you get off the line, are you going wide-open or what?

i dont know then dude, i only had my stock wheels and tires for like 3500 miles, but i dont remember them being that slick.

upgrade your tires, i have to actually try semi-hard to get them to spin now

In 2nd? With worn stock tires you have to dump the clutch at a much higher rpm to even take off semi quick in 2nd stock. Something doesnt sound right there. Sounds like you guys may just be a little jerky on the clutch. On worn slick stock tires on wet pavement I dont think you would have that issue in 2nd.

well, not take off on 2nd....but shifting to second at probably 5k rpm more or less, im used to taking my old car to 6,5 or 7 and shifting and not spinning the wheels at all. Maybe theres soemthing im missing here. Ill try upgrading the tires.

well that's why...

you dont need to rev that high lol. 3.5k in first, then 3k thereafter will let you keep up in traffic

i usually only rev to 2k and let the clutch grip. you're letting the revs go too high
