There's never a better time to discuss this. First post in a long time. I'm a Lexus Tech, own a 12 tC, and always snooping around for new thoughts on how to build my tC. Found this yesterday.

Since it is an AR series motor, the gut instinct tells me that a swap is possible, and would hopefully mount up well with the trans. Make some custom motor mounts and grab what's needed for the air-to-water intercooler system, and there could be a new winner.

Now I know this is far fetched and would be a nightmare with swapping the ECMs out, and not to mention controlling when Atkinson Cycle takes place, but all in all, what's everyones thought on this, as well as general thoughts on the upcoming 8AR-FTS?

 

Man 230 hp or whatever not worth it at all. Buy a turbo kit. Be way cheaper in long run n even with moderate boost get you 280-300 wheel horsepower.

The bellhousing pattern looks identical to the 2arfe so that should help anyone thinking of doing a swap.
