Default DIY for Intake Manifold carbon build up cleaning?

Does anyone have an intricate, step by step process which maximizes ease while minimizing time and effort for cleaning the carbon build up in the throttle body? like, what to remove to be able to get easy access to the throttle body.
Obviously we'll start with the Intake..

the throttle is fly by wire so i understand that i'd need the car on and the pedal floored to be able to open the butterfly. also, I'm aware that i should refrain from actually playing with the butterfly as it could cause failures in the fly by system..

My AEM CAI won't idle and at first i thought it was a defective product, but i now come to learn that it could be a carbon build up problem which is choking the motor out when idling. or more accurately, shutting off after switching to neutral to coast to a stop.
Dealer charges $80 for the cleaning, which they recommend every 60k..

It is most likely your intake, mine had this issue with an AEM system as well.

Carbon build up seems unlikely, try putting your stock intake back on. If the problem goes away then the intake is the issue.

Well, I have already gone back to stock and the problem went away, but i definitely want to try this and see if it fixes the problem for the AEM.

It makes sense to me.. i've seen similar problems fixed on Hondas. now on the Hondas the problem wasn't as bad, like turning off, but still.

If you have carbon build up in your intake manifold, I would be slightly concerned considering the car is fairly new.
