Default FYI cel

The K&N so far is the only intake other than TRD that Ive read doesn't seem to regularly throw cel. The Aem eti causes problems even though it doesn't throw the same code and I'm curious as to any other input from someone who's Researched.

I've researched quite a bit. Seams injen doesn't throw cel as long as it's installed correctly. Aem has a new one on their website that's not electronically tuned but it comes with extension for the maf sensor to move it does we right beside the filter.

I actually had the EVAP sensor bouncing around and threw a CEL, well first the intake wasn't seated properly, fixed that then didnt have the EVAP sensor connected to the intake, fixed that, haven't had a CEL since, but if I get one again, then something is wrong with the car...still waiting on my TRD Snorkel to come in as well that goes at the end of the intake...

Dude, where did you find a place that will sell just the TRD snorkel?? I found a part number for just that and one for the intake piping kit listed as *dealer service part only* and actually did the math and found the accumulated service parts were 70 bucks cheaper than the intake kit...

No it wasn't. There was one but it had the maf sensor up closer to the motor. Now they moved it down near the filter. It's only one that comes up for tc on their site.

I don't care I hope they wait to send mine as I'll be in Florida next week. Hope my exhaust gets here by end of this week tho. Hopefully ups will let someone else in my family pick it up or hold it for me if it comes while I'm away.

Are you guys trying to fit the TRD snorkel onto the stock air box? And if so, will it fit?

Ya it has to. The bottom part of the air box that the snorkel goes into is not replaced with the trd kit. Only top part of the air box is replaced.

i have the K&N intake, they want you to use the stock snorkel to get as much air as possible to the intake since its a SRI, so since i didnt have the stock snorkel anymore, got the TRD one, since its bigger in diameter, it should technically provide more cold air in theory to the intake...

yes sir!!! i got my TRD snorkel from a dealership in Rhode Island because it was the cheapest for me with shipping and their cost, if your interested enough, go to toyota racing development's website and look for each part, the cover, the tube, the snorkel and either their hi-flow filter or a K&N filter, google each part and you can from, i've seen other guys on this site, get all the parts for literally half the price of the TRD price for the entire kit all together, you can technically get it for like $200 instead of the $400+ and still get the 50 state emissions certification
