Default iphone/iphone4's on the USB/Aux in

Okkayyy.. so i have the stock pioneer h/u and i tried plugging my iphone 4 and the usb cable and got no result at all. I went and actually bought a pioneer aux/usb cable from best buy ( http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-CD-IU5.../dp/B001TINUF4 ) and still nothing. I reset the phone, tried 3 different ipod/iphone usb cables, tried the pioneer aux/usb cable and im just frustrated with it.. so right now im running aux and a car charger usb. I want my HU and USB port to be utilized though. I might just go get a freakin USB drive now, but i love pandora from my iphone lol

both the tC pioneer stock headunit manual and that pioneer cable said that they should be able to run iPhones so im curious about the older iphones..

so anyone have luck running their iphone?

last time i checked iPhone 1-3 did not work using the USB
...though i didn't check with the manual or the dealer or anything else as to why since i just use a nano always plugged in for music
...also i never really cared to look into it since i'm going to put a new HU in anyways..and i know the one i ordered is more than capable to work with iphones n such

my dealership did give me an aux cable (headphone)...i guess its for that

My friends 3G S works via USB connect. Haven't tried a 4. Have you tried opening your iPod application first, then connecting? I might be getting an i4 soon so I'd really like to know if it works.

Its not charging either? Have you tried another device on the USB port like a thumb drive or anything?

Have you used any streaming apps through it such as Pandora or Slacker? Or is it just whats stored on the device?

yup tc2

the fit is just like any other DD kit...has a slight gap, but easily fixed with hot glue or something (or so i've heard)

though goose customized his to get rid of the gap during the install

iPhone4 works. Is the harness unplugged? Pull the center console out and check if the wiring harness is unplugged.

Hmmm. That's odd that it isn't charging. I'm using an iPhone4 with mine, and it charges just fine. I've also tried the the previous generation iPhones (Original, 3G) and both are charging and working with the interface just fine. If you get another chance, ask your dealer's techs if the harness is damaged or installed incorrectly. It would require them to remove a lot of the center console to find out so you may have to fight them on that.

Only reason I say as such, is because I've already had one of my struts replaced and it took 4 different appointments to actually get them to take the wheels off and check everything to find the problem. And how did I know they didn't take the wheels off? They never asked for the wheel locks (they don't have a master set since they are aftermarket).

I had the same issue. The guys int he service department forgot to plug the USB cable into the back of the head unit.

Pop off the trim around the stereo (it just clips on).
Unscrew the four bolts that hold in the head unit (either 8 or 10 mm hex if memory serves)
Plug the cable in (in mine, it was a still secured to another set of wires along the left side using electrical tape.)

(Yes, I saw you got it working, but just leaving the info around in case anyone else has this issue).

The iPhone 3GS works just fine. So do jump drives. I don't use Pandora, but Slacker Internet Radio works just fine, and yes it charges.
